NBC rounded out their Monday night schedule with a new cop series, Chase. Police shows have performed very well for the networks for years but how did this one perform? Is it a keeper or will it be quickly cancelled?
Chase follows US Marshall Annie Frost (Kelli Giddish) as she heads up the Houston Enforcement & Apprehension Task Force. Annie and her team (played by Cole Hauser, Amaury Nolasco, Rose Rollins, and Jesse Metcalfe) hunt down America’s most dangerous fugitives.

The premiere garnered a disappointing 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.3 million viewers. That put Chase in third (last) place in both categories. It lost a significant number of viewers from lead-in The Event — 36% of the demo and 33% of total viewers. It also lost about 15% of viewers in the demo between the start and finish of the episode.
While this is much better than last year’s The Jay Leno Show, this mediocre start doesn’t bode well for Chase’s future. If the ratings decline in week two, as they typically do for new shows, it could be in real trouble.
Based on this performance alone, it seems unlikely that NBC would bother ordering any episodes beyond the initial 13 installments.

Keep it!!!!!! Oh for gosh sakes, look what it is up against. Put it in a new timeslot. I LOVE the show. What a strong, strong part it has for a woman in the lead and I also love the rest of the cast. It is so entertaining. I haven’t missed an episode yet! I either watch it that night or I tape it or watch it on line. Please, please keep it!!!!!!!! It’s great!

Keep it. Show rocks. It’s better than Hawaii Five-O, but I can see why 50 is beating it…

I rerally like the show. It shows that not only men can play the part of a tough law officer. I enjoyed the action and the acting. I think that this show has a great chance to go more than 2 seasons, I say also give it a chance, I really enjoyed seeing Eddie Cibrian on the show. I was really sad to see that he was let go on csi He played a really good part and added to the show.
This is one of the best new shows of the season….on any channel. Please keep it and give it time to find a audience. The Event is great as well, but we would like to see a full season of Chase, and a 2nd season of Chase. The writing is good, the action great….the actors are doing terrific jobs. We never miss an episode. Keep it, move it to a new time slot. It is behind the 8 ball competing against the established Castle and the pretty good Hawaii five-0.
This is one of the best new shows. Please give it a chance. The characters are interesting and the action is great. Maybe move it to a new time slot but at least give it a chance!
