A network that has plenty of cop and legal TV shows, CBS hasn’t had a successful medical drama in quite awhile. Will Code Black become a ratings success or a flop? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Code Black takes place in an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressures on its staff. The cast includes Marcia Gay Harden, Raza Jaffrey, Bonnie Somerville, Melanie Chandra, William Allen Young, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, and Luis Guzman.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
2/24 update: Now that the season’s wrapping up, should Code Black return for a second season?
2/25 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Hey Gail. It is a TV show. I realize it is close to your heart, but try and relax. Maybe watch Sesame Street. I like the actors, but do not watch Code Black because I do not like any medical drama. Supergirl is good and certainly not realistic. Stay well.
You couldn’t be further from the truth!
PLEASE don’t cancel Code Black…we can’t get enough of it. I will say the 1st episode was disappointing but have found it to be riveting since. Equal if not more intense than Greys Anatomy. Please don’t cancel it. It gets better and better every week. Thank you
Absolutely the best medical show out there. Instead of jumping into bed they actually work and look real. Good writing. Give them a chance to develop the characters, please. One of the best shows on TV and there aren’t many. Leave a thoughtful, well-written, top-notch program on for a change. It is one of the few.
This show needs to be cancelled…..stat. It is just awful. Horrible. Tried watching and turned it off after 5 minutes. Anyone who thinks this is medicine is an idiot (and I’m a doctor).
Why are you on hear commenting if you didn’t like the show? Some people enjoy the edge of your seat drama to it even if you say it isn’t accurate but calling individuals idiots shows your character. If you are a doctor, it seems your not a very nice one by calling people names.
Code Black is a fabulously created medical drama !! Marsha Gay Harden and Luis Guzman, and all the others…who would have thought all this group of extremely diverse actors would fit together so well ?? This is an extremely well-scripted and well-acted drama. Keep this type of entertainment coming, and your ratings can’t do anything but get better and better !!!
LOVE this one !!
As someone who wants to be a doctor I love this show because it focuses on medicine, skill and those dedicated to it while it may not be a documentary it’s still an inspiring and amazing show. Please please renew this show.
Stay love it
I love Code Black! The acting and the episodes are just terrific. I cry at least once during each episode because I am touched by something that happened during it. Please don’t cancel this smartly acted and very exciting series.
I love Code Black! I love all actors, the drama, the realistic scenes. Please keep it on the air !
I love the show and actors!!!! It keeps me on the edge of my seat and the hour goes by too quick. Please renew it!!
Best show on television
based on these ratings Code Black is DOA
At first I thought it moved too fast to follow, but now I think they’ve slowed it down so it’s easier to comprehend both the action and dialogue. I certainly hope it continues and is renewed.
I love this show and the actors! It’s one of the best medical drama’s ever.pls keep it on the air..the storyline are realistic and so emotional. Keeps you wanting more!!
