It’s the end of the road for Copper on BBC America. The cable channel has announced that the show has been cancelled after two seasons. The cancellation comes following the show’s modest ratings.
In a statement, BBC America GM Perry Simon said, “The opportunity to work with Tom Fontana, Barry Levinson, Will Rokos, Thomas Kelly and the extraordinary cast and crew on this journey is one that we are extremely proud of.”
He continued, “Their vision to retell the immigrant experience through the melting pot of New York City was an original and fresh idea that melded well with the essence of BBC America’s programming. After 23 episodes, with Lincoln dead and the nation starting to heal, it seems a fitting moment to conclude this American story.”
The de facto series finale will air this Sunday. It’s called “The Place I Called My Home.”
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear there won’t be a third season of Copper? How would you have ended the series?
Should definitely be another few seasons! Loved it! Need to be a better ending!,
Good stories good acting — of corse it’s been cancelled
Disappointed that the show has been cancelled
Just watched the final episode, very disappointed it was not wrapped up better, Kevin finding the bar closed and bodies in barrels, his girl friend missing , not a good ending we deserve better. Colin UK.

Sorry to hear no season 3 as we have been left with a cliff hanger as to what happens next
Everyone I have spoken to enjoyed the series so far
Have really enjoyed this Series (1 and 2) great storyline what a waste to think that there is no Series 3
Very disappointed no season 3. I’m watching episode 12 now , woke up thinking about it at 5am.
The final episode ended as if there was to be a third series so my hubby and I are so disappointed.
Please don’t end the shows as they are fantastic shows they are the best drama series I have ever watched
I will ask BBC “Why”?
We had a Bring Back Copper fb group with many members. We worked daily on sending out letters, tweets, and snail mail, contacting Netflix, Starz, producers and any other places and people we thought Copper would be a good fit but after a couple of years of trying we realized that the actors had moved on. We were gutted at the way they left us with a big fat nothing. The fans and the actors deserved much more. If there was ever a change of heart, I still think the show could resume, it might be hard to cast the… Read more »

Totally agree disgrace no more enjoyed every minute of this series not everyone wants reality shows
Why did they cancel this !!!??? Just binge watched both seasons and am now left wanting mote. Why do all the good shows get cancelled ?
Just binge-watched both series as they have just been screened/are being screened on Sky right now……series 3 is an absolute must…..please!!!!
I agree whole-heartedly with your comment about all the good shows getting cancelled when so much “reality” rubbish seems to thrive….why is that??!
Exciting, entertaining drama is so much more fulfilling.
Maybe if enough comments are made on forums such as these there might jus be enough strength in them to bring about a rethink and a change of heart for those of who would more than welcome such great escapism…..just remember “Ripper Street” or example.
Big disappointment no series 3
