By all accounts, the recent 30th anniversary Dallas reunion at Southfork Ranch was a big disappointment for most attendees. Though many paid big bucks and travelled literally thousands of miles to meet their favorite TV show Ewings, most left terribly disappointed. Based on postings at the Dallas message boards, many are pursuing legal action against the event organizers.
Shortly after the event, actress Charlene Tilton (Lucy Ewing) posted a message to attendees. She expressed her sadness over those who went away disappointed and said, “First of all I am so sorry to hear that a good time was not had by all. It was such a milestone event for the cast to get together with all of the fans who came out to the ranch. As a cast we were not aware of the trouble that was going on and that some people who paid top dollar did not receive the things that were promised. When I hear stories like the couple that flew all the way from Australia and bought $500.00 tickets and never got to meet the cast it breaks my heart.” Tilton was simply an invited guest but she believes that the event’s producers owe many an explanation. She also gives kudos to the staff at the Southfork Ranch.
For those that couldn’t attend or who did and wish they didn’t, the event was filmed and segments are expected to be released as part of a documentary at some point in the future. If you don’t want to wait that long, one thoughtful fan taped the Q&A session and has posted it on YouTube. It’s a bit shaky and the video isn’t the best quality but you’ve likely got a better seat than most who paid to see it in person. To watch it, click below…
