Time to book a ticket to Austin. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the casts of Designing Women and Northern Exposure will reunite at next year’s ATX Television Festival.
The annual festival has previously hosted reunions for shows like Gilmore Girls, Friday Night Lights, and The West Wing.
Created by Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, Designing Women centered on four women and one man who worked at an interior design studio in Atlanta, GA. The cast included Dixie Carter, Jean Smart, Delta Burke, Annie Potts, Meshach Taylor, and Jan Hooks.
In honor of the show’s 30th anniversary, cast members Delta Burke, Annie Potts, Jean Smart, Gerald McRaney, Hal Holbrook, and Douglas Barr will reunite at the festival alongside Bloodworth-Thomason.
Meanwhile, several of the original cast from Northern Exposure will also be present at ATX, including Rob Morrow, John Corbett, Barry Corbin, Janine Turner, and Darren Burrows. The CBS dramedy followed a young New York City doctor who he moves to a small Alaskan town. The series ran for six seasons before ending in 1995. Creator Joshua Brand will also appear at the reunion.
Next year’s ATX Television Festival is schedule for June 8-11 in Austin, Texas.
