Like many of the shows on the UPN and the WB, the recently-announced network merger has left Everwood fans hanging. With only half as much airtime to fill, execs at the new CW network have some tough choices to make. Shows like Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls and Smallville seem like a shoe-in for return but a show like Everwood has a less than certain fate.
The first CW schedule won’t be released for quite awhile but the future doesn’t look promising for the drama series for a couple reasons. Everwood hasn’t shown great numbers and has been off the air for months. The latter is in part due to the fact that reruns of the show typically don’t do well in the ratings. In addition, Everwood creator Greg Berlanti recently signed a three-year production deal with competing studio Disney. Though he’ll be busy with other projects, Berlanti reportedly expressed hope that the show will see a fifth season.
Fortunately for viewers, Executive Producer Rina Mimoun isn’t taking chances. It’s been said that she’s preparing two alternate scripts for this season’s final show — a season finale and a series finale — so that show fans won’t be left hanging if the show doesn’t return.
The Treat Williams drama is scheduled to return to the WB airwaves on March 27, 2006 with the remaining new episodes of the 2005-06 season. 
I am shocked!! I had my calender marked for 10/02/06 to watch everwood, then I go to watch it and nothing is there. I look online to find out that my ONLY show I watch on tv has been canceled!!! It is so sad to watch all the good shows slowly disappear to make room for smut.
VERY VERY disappointing
I am heart broken to believe that “Everwood” is canceled. It was one of the best shows on T.V. I have never missed a show. I was disapointed that there were so few shows and than you would take it off the listings for awhile. I could’nt wait till it came back on again. Who ever desides these things should be canceled.
I can’t believe you cancelled Everwood. There are few shows on TV that I enjoy, Everwood, 7th Heaven, The OC, –and now you are cancelling one of the top.
The Model Show, Everyone Hates Chris–get real–people want family shows–not shows geared to teenagers alone–where do you think the money comes from to support people watching your shows.. It’s the parents who pay for the tv and the cable or satellite.
CW was the top station in this area–not people don’t want to watch your station anymore.
Bring back the good tv lineup you had.
I cannot believed that you have cancelled Everwood with out any notice. I am extremely disspointed in the WB. I cannot believe the shows your network continually runs (like Reba and Smallville). Neither show is creative nor do they leave the viewer(s) wondering what will happen on the following episode (like Everwood did). I am very disspointed that you did not share the your thoughts about cancelling the show last season. That is very inconsiderate on the behalf of a network which relies on it’s viewers support. How rude!!
I cannot beleive that Everwood is or might be cancelled. I am SO disappointed and evidently I missed the “finale”….I was waiting for the new season to begin….at least give us one more season with everyone together and happy after all that waiting and watching. I agree with everyone else…TV is going to the dogs. There is nothing quality or really well written to watch anymore. I could cry I am so bummed….Everwood was the only TV show my husband and I both liked and watched together….please, please reconsider.
I would like to join to express my disappointment to hear that Everwood has been cancelled. This was I believe the best TV we have had in years. Why remove the good ones when there is alot of trash that really needs to go. I for one would like to ask you to reconsider and bring good TV back to the viewing families. Bring Everwood back…
I am extremely disappointed to hear that Everwood is cancelled. It was my favorite show on TV. That show teach really good lessons for the teenagers and adults. I cried with the show whenever Edna, Dr.Brown, and Ephram cried, and I laugh whenever they laughed as well. I love the scripts and the actors are awesome!!!. I hope the producers reconsider that shows like this are the ones that need to come back to primetime TV, and not those who basically don’t teach lessons about real life.
My daughter and I are very disappointed Everwood hass been cancelled, it was our favorite show on TV.
It was a great way for us to bond and it had so many good lessons for teenagers to think about. I hope there is some way for the show to be resurrected.
I have been watching closely for the listing for the Everwood “Season Opener” and I haven’t seen it listed yet. I am very disappointed to see that this show may be cancelled. One of the few that my family and I look forward to watching each week. This is a very good story and hope Warner Brothers will reconsider and not cancel the show.
Oh no you did not cancel Everwood! What the heck is up. Dr. Brown and his son finally get the women in thier lives, and you cancel! I have been waiting for this to happen and you cancel! Why did’t you cancel that 7th Heaven. How many more story lines can it have? Smallville lost me a long time ago. All you can do is fight for your favorite programs.You may not succeed but heck at least you did something.T.v.’s Murphy Law:any program you like and have invested in,will inevitably get cancelled.I love both Everwood and 7th Heaven.

I am just realizing that Everwood has been cancelled!!! I am so angry…this was one of my FAVORITE TV shows to watch and I cannot believe that I missed the finale to boot!! I cannot believe that you would cancel such a great family series that has something for everyone!!! There is so much junk on television these days and when you finally have a quality show that addresses real issues and real emotions which make you laugh and cry….you cancel it!!!! Everwood will be on ABC FAMILY channel on Oct. 2nd,
monday night so watch for it.
I am really disappointed that Everwood has been cancelled. I am a mother of two very active children ages 10 & 12. I am always on a ball field or in a gym 6 to 7 nights a week and this is after coming home from my full time job so I don’t watch alot of tv, but no matter what night everwood, one tree hill, and related was on I would almost always get home in time to see it! I am so disappointed in WB. I think I will put a block on my TV for your station. You continue to drop all of the quality shows that you have. Like Everwood, 7th Heaven. You are such idiots…. These are programs that we can watch with our children and they enjoy watching with us. I am so tired of the Reality TV programs and TV trash that you put on. I hope that maybe on of the bigger networks will pick up these quality show.
