Liam James is Ben/Adam Warren. Andrew McCarthy is Hank Asher. Floriana Lima is Bridey Cruz. Young Willa and Danny are played by Madeleine Arthur and Rarmian Newton.

Claire finally realizes what Adam and Ben endured when she visits the hell hole-like tomb where they were kept, exploding with grief, anger and frustration. Meanwhile Jane looks to make a getaway as Nina closes in on Doug’s location, and Agent Clements’ time is running out. Hank comes face to face with his inner demons, and one phone call shatters Ben’s world, forcing him to tackle an uncertain destiny.

The Family was canceled due to low ratings. As of the May 8th episode, the series averaged 0.83 in the 18-49 year-old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 3.276 million viewers. We have been tracking 25 scripted ABC series during the 2015-16 television season. Those numbers leave The Family ranked 21st out of 25, when sorted by both the demo and total average audience.

ABC cancelled The Family on Thursday, May 12, 2016, so this first season finale was not written as an intentional TV series finale. If the audience will get sufficient closure or satisfaction from “What Took So Long,” remains to be seen.

“The Family” was my new favorite show. I looked forward to it every week (it was one of only three shows on my “have to watch” list). So disappointed! It was new and creative and introduced some thought provoking subjects. Instead we still have “How to Get Away With Murder” — with absurd plot lines, i.e., one murder leads to another and another and so on. Ridiculous!
I am 48 and my daughter is 16,, weekly we were both eager and excited to watch the new show. It had suspense, great acting and an unpredictable plot. This was a good show that should have continued on, its ashame that ABC isn’t in tune with its viewers.
I so enjoyed “The Family”. I understand shows get cancelled but The Family left so many questions unanswered. Adam is alive???

DO.NOT.CANCEL THIS SHOW!!! This show has not been given the chance or promotion it was due. Amazing acting and keeps you reeled in. It is unlike any other show out there on the networks! If ABC cancels I hope there is some other smarter network to.pick it up. Big mistake to cancel. So.sick of crap TV, this show is absolutely worth keeping!
Huge mistake it will be to cancel this series. The acting was amazing. Every character. It is the best new series going. I can not stand some of the stupid new series I see advertised. Sick of the same old singing and dancing contest shows and reality TV is getting old. This show always left you hanging and you could never predict what was coming next. So much was left to the imagination last episode I could not wait till next week and then to find out it was cancelled! I was stunned.
EXCELLENT and original show!! Finally getting away from the reality shows. Up to 63+ pages of people asking to keep the show. Listen to your viewers ABC!!
