Liam James is Ben/Adam Warren. Andrew McCarthy is Hank Asher. Floriana Lima is Bridey Cruz. Young Willa and Danny are played by Madeleine Arthur and Rarmian Newton.

Claire finally realizes what Adam and Ben endured when she visits the hell hole-like tomb where they were kept, exploding with grief, anger and frustration. Meanwhile Jane looks to make a getaway as Nina closes in on Doug’s location, and Agent Clements’ time is running out. Hank comes face to face with his inner demons, and one phone call shatters Ben’s world, forcing him to tackle an uncertain destiny.

The Family was canceled due to low ratings. As of the May 8th episode, the series averaged 0.83 in the 18-49 year-old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 3.276 million viewers. We have been tracking 25 scripted ABC series during the 2015-16 television season. Those numbers leave The Family ranked 21st out of 25, when sorted by both the demo and total average audience.

ABC cancelled The Family on Thursday, May 12, 2016, so this first season finale was not written as an intentional TV series finale. If the audience will get sufficient closure or satisfaction from “What Took So Long,” remains to be seen.

Totally wrong decision to cancel this series-what are you thinking? Bring it back please!!! Very gripping drama! Much much better than a lot of the other garbage on TV.
What do we need to do to bring this show back? My hubby and I loved it but he works away so rarely watched it right away. I hate how that effects ratings!!! 🙁

The family is a great serie, drama and mystery. If it really was cancelled, then it is not because of the ratings, perhaps the challenge of such a great story does not have what it requires to make it a hit! When you are not getting the ratings, then you should try a change of day or hour that does not conflict with other good shows to see what is best; a good promotion of the show too.

The Family was the first original idea I have seen in quite a while. I am disappointed it has been cancelled. Should we expect another show representing the .00292% of the nation?

So sad. I finally found a show with enough twists and scary parts that it kept my attention. Every Sunday night I would quiet everyone just to watch. It was just getting really really good. Bring it back!!!. Enough with all these reality shows!

BRING BACK THE FAMILY. The twists & turns keep the viewers on their edge of their seats. Just watched the final episode and Googled to find out when it was returning and found out it was cancelled. BUMMER!! I don’t think the network gave the show enough time to capture an audience. Acting and story line is STRONG. Please bring back THE FAMILY!!

This was a great show and definitely far from over !! ABC always does this …I stopped watching after they did this with the last show and went back for The Family…I shouldn’t have even watched !! We want more you can’t leave it like that ….
