Liam James is Ben/Adam Warren. Andrew McCarthy is Hank Asher. Floriana Lima is Bridey Cruz. Young Willa and Danny are played by Madeleine Arthur and Rarmian Newton.

Claire finally realizes what Adam and Ben endured when she visits the hell hole-like tomb where they were kept, exploding with grief, anger and frustration. Meanwhile Jane looks to make a getaway as Nina closes in on Doug’s location, and Agent Clements’ time is running out. Hank comes face to face with his inner demons, and one phone call shatters Ben’s world, forcing him to tackle an uncertain destiny.

The Family was canceled due to low ratings. As of the May 8th episode, the series averaged 0.83 in the 18-49 year-old viewer demographic and drew an average total audience of 3.276 million viewers. We have been tracking 25 scripted ABC series during the 2015-16 television season. Those numbers leave The Family ranked 21st out of 25, when sorted by both the demo and total average audience.

ABC cancelled The Family on Thursday, May 12, 2016, so this first season finale was not written as an intentional TV series finale. If the audience will get sufficient closure or satisfaction from “What Took So Long,” remains to be seen.

I am so mad that this show was canceled and how the finale went the story was just getting started. Now there is no closure for the fans that watched this show from the first episode. I am very upset to not be able to see the end of this thrilling series.

I have been hooked since the first episode. My mother and I have not missed one. Very disappointed that it was cancelled and the way the finale ended completely left us hanging.
Can’t believe that this show was cancelled!!!!! WHY?? It is one of the best shows on TV. Something original. Please give it another season.
Ugh this is almost as bad as X-Files being cancelled I looked forward to it every week; and to end it like it did sucks it just makes the viewer want more. It had a great story line, script and acting. Shame on ABC. Disappointed.

My husband and I have watch this show religiously since the very first episode, now that we are FINALLY getting to know all the facts your going to cancel it, this is CRAP! Please bring it back write a book about it or something!!!!!
My husband and I have been following this show since day 1. We are very wrapped up in the suspense and are very disheartened learning that the show is cancelled. We sincerely hope ABC changes its mind and renews the show for more upcoming seasons!
I wish the show was t cancelled. It’s a very good & interesting show. I hope ABC reconsider their decision & continue the show. It’s still so many questions left unanswered.
The story is now getting interesting. ABC should bring it back and give it a little more time. Great shows in TV would have been cut if not given proper time, namely Sinefeld and Friends! At the very least, there should be a proper finale!!!
I am extremely angered. I’m just a 16 year old girl trying to live my life. Every Sunday I slave my days away doing homework, and all I look forward to is watching The Family at 9. It was the first thing my mother and I were able to bond over since her recent heroine relapse. Absolutely heartbroken. Thank you for taking away the good in my life.
Yes. Finish it! I’m more dissatisfied with ABC for leaving us hanging than the show itself. Finish it.
ABC cancels the few shows on their channel that I like. I usually won’t watch anything on ABC for this very reason. This is the best tv I’ve seen in a while – very suspenseful. I would almost rather binge watch it. We look forward to it every Sunday night. ABC needs to pull their head out of their asses, and stop with the reality tv. Not everyone wants to watch that crap. Bring it back.
