How I Met Your Mother may finally get that CBS spin-off. Deadline reports the network is interested in the new series project How I Met Your Father.
Last month, we reported This Is Us writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger are developing a new spin-off to the long-running CBS sitcom, which ended in 2014. A previous attempt, How I Met Your Dad, was written by series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas but it never made it past the pilot stage.
At this week’s Television Critics Association press tour, CBS chief Glenn Geller said he’s excited to read the How I Met Your Father script:
We haven’t seen anything, we haven’t been pitched anything. I’m excited to read it when it’s finished, and it could potentially be a project for us.”
Like the original, How I Met Your Father will feature flashbacks as a mother tells her children how she met their dad.
What do you think? Are you a fan of How I Met Your Mother? Would you watch the spin-off series?
I would watch it, but only if they promise not to destroy nine seasons of character development in the last 5 minutes of the show
