What’s This TV Show About?
A sitcom airing on the CBS television network, Mom stars Anna Faris, Allison Janney, Jaime Pressly, Matt Jones, Sadie Calvano, Blake Garrett Rosenthal, Mimi Kennedy, Beth Hall, and William Fichtner. The series centers on Christy (Faris), a single mom in recovery who has moved back in with her own single mother, Bonnie (Janney), who’s also in recovery. Bonnie’s attempts to make up for her failings can try Christy’s patience. After all, she’s working on her relationships with her own kids and their father and working toward a new career. Meanwhile, Bonnie is learning how to forge healthy relationships and still wonders what she’ll be when she grows up. Together, and with the help of AA, Christy and Bonnie spot one another along the road to recovery.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of Mom is averaging a 1.46 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 8.76 million viewers. Compared to season four, that’s up by 2% in the demo and up by 16% in viewership. Find out how Mom stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.
On April 8, 2018, Mom was renewed for a sixth season which will debut on September 27, 2018. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Although this comedy’s ratings have slipped over the years, historically, Mom has done pretty well in the demo, which — Big Bang Theory aside — isn’t the Tiffany Network’s strong suit. Flying a bit blind, I expect it will score a renewal. Still, comedies often start to show their age around now, and this program has a good sized syndication package, so another season is not guaranteed. What do you think? Are you glad that CBS renewed its Mom TV show for season six? How many more seasons do you think this TV series has in it?
Please make more seasons I love this TV series.. It’s my favorite!!
For sure!
I NEED more Mom!!!!
The show needs to be renewed. It is the only reason I watch Big Bang and young Sheldon. I even skip those shows and turn to CBS at 9.
Please please bring back Mom for a sixth season.
It has been renewed
Please don’t take another funny show off the air. I watch so few shows as it is. I have been desperately waiting for new episodes.
Please don’t take another fun show off the air. There’s too much reality tv on. Can’t we just enjoy a good fun show.
I believe this show should remain on the air, coming from a family of parents that well, went through what the show talks about and Shows, and kind of makes it looks funny
Best chemistry since Laverne & Shirley
Please don’t cancel mom this is the greatest show ever
Keep Mom on for another season. As a recovering alcoholic it has helped me tremendously. As I watch the show I feel as if I’m at an AA meeting. I know this show helps many people. PLEASE DONT CANCEL THIS AMAZING SHOW!!!!!
You have to keep MOM on. It’s wonderful writing and acting!!!!
MOM is probably the funniest show on TV. We pay so much for cable and there are so few shows to watch. PLEASE keep MOM on forever. I love all the characters especially Bonnie and Kristi. They have great chemistry.
This a fantastic show! I started last year and am now watching all reruns. This show is very accurate as if the writers, cast, producers must all be in AA. I’m sure the cast aren’t but you can’t tell. Great acting hilarious! Long time AA member.
Please keep this show on TV. My husband and I love this show and the characters!
Mom has to continue! . Great show about life. We watch reruns 3 times a day. Anxious to season 7
finding this show to be insensitive and thoughtless – finding humor in those struggling with addiction and recovery wrong
Maureen, I would suggest you watch episodes from prior seasons to see some of the storylines. For example, in season 3, Christy played AA sponsor to a girl in her 20s who later moved in with a guy, went back to drugs while Christy was busy helping plan friend Marjorie’s wedding, and fatally OD’d the day of the ceremony. Christy felt guilty and had a falling-out with Marjorie, who wasn’t told what had happened before she went on her honeymoon. Christy, Bonnie, Jill and Wendy travel to Canada to pick up a huge container of maple syrup they can sell… Read more »
I must disagree. My entire family are alcoholics have been since my birth and many are recovering drug addicts. My 22 yr old nephew died Christmas eve of a heroin overdose. My family loves Mom and I personally find it inspiring. The show doesn’t make fun of addiction .The show gives hope for addiction and is based on real life.My sister and brother both have been in AA.Just because you’re an addict doesn’t mean you lose your sense of humor. This show hits on many issues and shows those suffering as an addict and those like myself whom both parents are alcoholics that hope exist… Read more »
