Despite a lot of promotion, My Generation stumbled out of the gate and now ABC has cancelled it after two episodes. If you were watching the ratings, this doesn’t come as a surprise.
My Generation revolves around a diverse group of young adults who attended high school together. While there, they were interviewed for a documentary. They reunite 10 years later and we see how their lives and expectations have changed. The ensemble cast includes Anne Son, Daniella Alonso, Jaime King, Julian Morris, Keir O’Donnell, Kelli Garner, Mehcad Brooks, Michael Stahl-David, and Sebastian Sozzi.
In its first week on the air, My Generation attracted poor ratings with a 1.6 in the 18-49 demographic and 5.2 million total viewers. That was bad enough to land it in fourth place for both categories.

For week two, the numbers were much worse. The show attracted a terrible 1.1 rating in the prized demo and just 3.815 million viewers. For the timeslot, it landed in fourth place in total viewers and in fifth place for the demo, behind even The CW. That’s an amazingly bad performance for a major network.
ABC has now cancelled My Generation and they’re pulling the show from the schedule immediately. Production on the series has been shut down. It’s unknown how many episodes have been completed but it doesn’t seem likely that the network will bother releasing the unaired ones.
A timeslot replacement for the cancelled series is expected to be announced on Monday.

Very sad. I really liked that show!
so mad that they canceled this! i think it really spoke to the people who graduated around that time 1998-2003 and how things change drastically from high school, jocks marry geeks, and things are so differant from high school, think this show would have been good for the kids in high school now as well, to show them that just because somsone is popular now does not mean they will be successful later in life.

We, as viewers, are overwhelmed when fall TV arrives—-how can we watch everthing all at once—too many shows all at one time. I enjoyed My Generation—a new show needs more than two episodes so viewers can tell friends and then more people watch—every new show deserves six episodes——I believe maybe there was not enough nudity–sex—drungs and booze—what a shame that these shows attract viewers!!!!
SO sad to see this show yanked after only 2 episodes. Such great story lines and I was really looking forward to see how everything played out. I’m SUPER bummed, and am really hoping that they’ll somehow bring it back. I’ve never been this bummed over a show cancellation!! =(
Both my daughter and I really enjoyed it. Sad to see it being canceled.
Really disappointed, just heard about this show and watched it online. Was really getting into it and looking forward to the next episode. I hope someone picks it up.

I LOVED this show. I found it very interesting….and completely different than any other show on TV. It upsets me that ABC continuously does this, pulls shows so fast, without giving them the chance they deserve. Very Disappointing ABC!!!
Needs to go… Not worth watching. I have got a really good story line for Fox!
I am not kidding around either. I came up with this awesome idea that I truly believe would draw the attention of millions of viewers! I must wait and see=)
I’m about sick of prime time television and especially ABC. After you bagged Flash Forward last year after 1 season and no warning, now this. How is it possible that you don’t even give a show more than 2 episodes to make a splash. Are you clearing out a time slot for another cop/homicide spin off…I got sick of those after the 8th law and order came out. Thank god MNF switched to ESPN so that I can effectively boycott your channel…
This was the best show! It had the most intersting story lines and I liked how the cameras got so close to the characters faces. It seemed liked you were right there with them too. I usually don’t care about new shows but I started watching this one and loved it. Whoever canceled it is making a big mistake. This show has a soul and isn’t stupid funny like most of the rest of the new ones. Bring it back. Put it on a different night like Wed. when it is really blah!
