FOX’s soap opera/reality series Nashville is the winner — though not in a good way. It’s the first new series of the 2007-08 season to be pulled from the primetime schedule.
Nashville debuted on September 14th and follows a group of aspiring country singers as they navigate their way through the Tennessee music city. Participants include Jamey Johnson, Matt Jenkins, Lindsey Hager, Jeff Allen, Clint Moseley, Chuck Wicks, Rachel Bradshaw, Mika Combs, and Sarah Gunsolus.
The series debuted to a disappointing 2.7 million and viewership dropped to 2.2 million the following week. As a result, FOX has pulled the show from the schedule effective immediately.
Encore airings of K-Ville will take over the Nashville slot on Friday nights for the next two weeks. After that, The Next Great American Band will take over the night with three two-hour episodes.
FOX maintains that episodes of Nashville will “be rescheduled at a later date.” Based on the network’s revised schedule information, the first available Friday night timeslot is November 9th but I wouldn’t hold your breath. Stay tuned!
I love this show, I hate it when fox pulls shows. They never give anything a chance. I need to know what happens with Mika. I think she has an incredible voice. I’m still mad that they pulled Wedding Belles about the wedding planners.
I really loved Nashville and never thought that Fox would pull it after just two weeks. It didn’t even have a chance to gain a following and being on Friday nights at 8:00pm was hard right off the bat. I totally agree with the rest of the people on this site and feel that Fox should bring this show back! Please consider giving this show another chance, is was great and was at the top of my TIVO recording list!
This show is weal all around. Characters suck as well as their development. Also, very unrealistic. Sucked.
i can not believe that you pulled it from the air i loved watching that show maybe you could air it on another night at a different time please bring it back i loved watching it it was very interesting to see how the road is in nashville
Having grew up in Nashville, I can say that this show didn’t do my hometown justice. If they want to make a show about what it takes to make it in the Music City, follow some real people, ya know the one’s sitting on 2nd Ave, singing and playing in front of open guitar cases full of loose change. Not these fake rich kids living in an expensive apartment complex who already have contacts at BMG. Hell, the Cyote Ugly show represented Nashville alot better than this one.
I would rather see fox get rid of the cartoons and air good, clean and up lifting shows like Nashville.
I thought Nashville was a great show. Finally a docu-reality series that is more than just some crappy kids who live in a rich psuedo reality. These kids actually had talent and it was great to see the inside world of the country music buisness. I don’t even enjoy country music but loved the show.
Please put Nashville back on the air. Some of us have kids and dont go out every friday night, so we like to have something to watch! This was a great new show. You could have atleast given us some answers on why you took it off the air!
Put this back on the air – it was one of the best new shows in a while.
Bring this show back! I loved this show, it was something to watch on friday nights. Move it to another night and let us get our fill of NASHVILLE!
I loved that program – darn it. I wondered what happened to it and now I know. Bring it back
OMG I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED IT ARE YOU CRZY!!! THIS WAS A GREAT SHOW 🙁 SOOO MAD THAT YOU GUYS TOOK IF OFF THE AIR!!!!!!!!!!!1
Nashville is a great show. I want to see the rest of the episodes. You can even put it on late at night, just bring it back. There is no other reality show on t.v. that shows the country music culture. This show is unique, addictive & intriguing!
This is so ridiculous…I loved the show..of all shows to take off of the air, why Nashville??? There are shows on tv right now that are way more worse than Nashville…I agree..I hope that CMT picks up the show so the fans can enjoy what they had hoped to do!!!!
K-Ville!?! Come on. I really liked Nashville, thought it was very compelling and especially cool; I will not watch K-Ville — looks like a bad storyline with bad acting and even worse writing. What the hell is FOX thinking?
