The saga of NBC’s medical disaster series continues.
Trauma revolves around a group of brave first responder paramedics in San Francisco. The high-action series is populated by an ensemble cast that includes Derek Luke, Cliff Curtis, Anastasia Griffith, Kevin Rankin, Aimee Garcia, Billy Lush, Jamey Sheridan, and Taylor Kinney.
Back in October, NBC indicated they weren’t ordering any additional episodes of Trauma beyond the initial 13 episode order, effectively cancelling the series. Then, in the wake of the failure of The Jay Leno Show, they ordered seven more episodes to fill primetime space.
When Trauma returned to the NBC schedule after a three month hiatus, the ratings were even worse than they were back in November. If the execs weren’t happy with the ratings before, they were very likely regretting their decision to order additional installments.
According to the Futon Critic, NBC has now cut their additional episode order from seven to five installments. That brings the season total to 18 episodes.
The last episode of the season, and almost certainly the series, will air on April 26th. No word yet if the producers adapted episode 18 so that it could serve as a series finale or if viewers will be left hanging.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Trauma’s episode order has been cut? Are you holding onto hope that it will be back for season two?

Definitely should keep alive and bring it into a second season…. !
This is one of the best shows on tv! How can other stupid shows with no meaning or purpose stay on air but they cancel a show like Trauma?! If NBC had any brains at all they would keep this show running! Order more episodes NBC!!!!!!
Good show. What’s going to happen to Nancy??? She was just doing her job.
Keep it on the air. Enjoy it.
just started watching Trauma in March. I do enjoy it and beginning to know the characters and anxious to know what happens to Nancy. Hope it continues.
If NBC were smart, they would be “THE station for seconds chances” by keeping Trama for another season. Give it more of a chance to survive, people. It’s an internet world out there, (…take what I am doing now… talking about it online) if you give it more than 1 season to succeed, it will take off, I promise you. Considering the compatition, the show deserves one more season because there’re a lot of people out there that have yet to hear about this show and WILL take the time to schedule it into their busy routine when they do.… Read more »
I agree it is on at a bad time it is a great show if you take it off i will be watching cbs.
change the time or night and at least give it a chance i know a lot of people feel the same way it is a great show they save people instead of killing people!!!!!!!!!!
This is a stupid mistake on NBC’s part. They never even gave Trauma a chance and now they’re killing it. What the heck did they expect coming from back from such a long break with a brand new show? That the ratings would just jump? You can’t do things like that to a brand new show. NBC has no good shows now that ER is gone, that was the last show I watched on their network until Trauma. I hope all their shows ratings go downhill, will serve them right.
I have grown more and more fond of this show as the weeks go on, and was delighted to see that Lost’s John Terry has been cast for at least two episodes. I would be very sad if NBC let it go, particularly considering how bad Heroes let me down after season one, yet lived on.
i to might boycote nbc if they cancel trauma. i love trauma. and it is a huge mistake to cancel it
Please don’t cancel it if it is in fact up in the air. If it’s already canceled because you guys are just gonna cancel it no matter what. Then forget you guys I’ll be watching CBS dramas.
P.S.
Why would anybody with a brain cancel Trauma with less than one season, but let Heroes hobble on for four?
I, for one, am angry that Trauma is being canceled. I feel like boycotting the network now.
I totally agree with you Vanessa! I LOVE this show. I had no idea it was back on the air until the 4th episode aired last week. I was lucky enough to have OnDemand and could watch the epis that i missed. Trauma is a great show with wonderful actors and story lines. I sure hope they don’t leave us hanging especially after last nights firing of Dr Joe.
Maybe if the powers that be at NBC had given the show proper advertising more people would be watching. My roommate saw it for the first time last week and loved it!
Excuse me but if you would repeat the episodes then maybe the ratings wouldn’t be so bad..you know you’re competing with Dancing with the Stars and 24..so it’s you FAULT that the ratings are as bad as they are…think about repeating them on saturday or something..
