The saga of NBC’s medical disaster series continues.
Trauma revolves around a group of brave first responder paramedics in San Francisco. The high-action series is populated by an ensemble cast that includes Derek Luke, Cliff Curtis, Anastasia Griffith, Kevin Rankin, Aimee Garcia, Billy Lush, Jamey Sheridan, and Taylor Kinney.
Back in October, NBC indicated they weren’t ordering any additional episodes of Trauma beyond the initial 13 episode order, effectively cancelling the series. Then, in the wake of the failure of The Jay Leno Show, they ordered seven more episodes to fill primetime space.
When Trauma returned to the NBC schedule after a three month hiatus, the ratings were even worse than they were back in November. If the execs weren’t happy with the ratings before, they were very likely regretting their decision to order additional installments.
According to the Futon Critic, NBC has now cut their additional episode order from seven to five installments. That brings the season total to 18 episodes.
The last episode of the season, and almost certainly the series, will air on April 26th. No word yet if the producers adapted episode 18 so that it could serve as a series finale or if viewers will be left hanging.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Trauma’s episode order has been cut? Are you holding onto hope that it will be back for season two?

Please do not cancel Trauma. Its really a very good show, maybe Rabbit could calm down a bit, but other wise its great, please keep it around
Please don’t cancel this show, it was a show that I looked forward to every Monday. I loved the plot and the characters. It was a great show and I hope the NBC does not decide to cancel the show.
What is wrong with the networks today? My friends, girlfriend, and I tune into TRAUMA weekly AND we DVR it to watch it again.
TRAUMA boasts some amazing talent!!! They need stronger scripts and more focus on the individual characters storylines not just the big action sequences (that will help budget concerns).
We LOVE these characters!!! DO NOT give up on TRAUMA!!! NBC needs help STAT!!!
I usually am a fan of ABC. However my wife and I decided to give NBC a chance. The first show we really enjoyed watching on NBC was called KINGS. Guess what? NBC cancelled it. Another show we liked was Southland. Guess what again? NBC cancelled it! Trauma is a a great show and once again NBC is cancelling it. So guess what NBC? We are cancelling our viewing of your network!
PLEASE DON’T CANCEL TRAUMA. MY HUSBAND AND I REALLY ENJOY THIS SHOW. IT IS THE FIRST MEDICAL SHOW MY HUSBAND EVER REALLY LIKED. DON’T CANCEL. THANKS.
My hubby & I look forward to this show every week and both LOVE it.
I have grown SO attached to the characters and would hate to see it get cancelled.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NBC, KEEP THIS SHOW ALIVE!
Typical – we all find a great show and in true “NBC” fashion, cancelled. With all the confusion the past year, it’s no wonder that some folks don’t seem to understand what the public deems good television. Obviously, they could take a lesson from USA Network etc with “Characters.” With any luck, USA would pick up Trama and continue the show. This show has all the characteristics of success, very interesting ‘multi’ story line, depth of character development, multi plots that tie in together – Trauma has it all. The best thing since sliced toast? No – but something to… Read more »
C’;mon NBC, this IS a man’s show, as you intended, I started watching it w/ my wife, and really like it. We love reality trauma shows, and it is close!! Plus…you really screwed up on Moonlight, and missing the vampire craze…my daughters boycotted you.
I LOVE Trauma, it is so true to life, and the characters are superb, directing is excellent. ABC, don’t cancel …PLEASE!!!
I hate that NBC is cancelling Trauma!!! And all I can say is that if the latest episode was the last and we will never know how Rabbit reacts to Nancy sharing a kiss with her hot partner……. I WILL VOW TO BOYCOT NBC……. Trauma is the best medical show since the early seasons of ER
I CAN NOT BELIEVE IT IS EVEN A CONSIDERATION OF CANCELLING TRAUMA. IT IS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS ON TV RIGHT NOW AND I DIDNT EVEN KNOW IT WAS BACK ON THE SECOND TIME AROUND. I JUST HAPPENED TO BE FLIPPING THROUGH THE CHANNELS AND FOUND IT ONE NIGHT. U HAVE TO GIVE IT ANOTHER CHANCE. IM SURE ALOT OF PEOPLE DIDNT KNOW IT CAME BACK ON THATS WHY THEY WERE WORSE. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL TRAUMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trauma was the only show on NBC worth watching , so for me, Goodbye to NBC. I am in the medical field and enjoyed all the circumstances. Mercy can’t compare! Rabbit and Nancy were down to earth along with all the other characters. Shame on you! I’ll never get involved in watching another series on NBC because you always let me down. You can’t be trusted! GOODBYE!
Trauma is THE best show I have ever seen on NBC. I watch it every monday and count down the days until the next show. For them to just cancel the show and not even leave us with a good ending is horrible! They just left everybody hanging. This is a very realistc show and it speaks to all of us. It is way better than mercy and it just gets close to your heart. I would do anything for you not to cancel this show. Please continue another season, and from then just keep on going. Thanks!!
I LOVE TRAUMA!!!!! please DON’T cancel it
Wow…shocked at the cancellation. Rabbit and Nancy are two the best characters in TV. Putting a show up against CSI:Miami difficult bargain. I will hold on to all hope that NBC comes to their senses. Trauma is worth a shot…
I have never tuned in to channel 2 for any TV shows period. The one and only show on channel 2 (NBC) that I have ever liked…. you are cancelling it. GREAT JOB! Trauma is an excellent show and we have watched it faithfully since it was brought to prime time. It is a show that I really love. What a shame it is on your choice. My sister was an EMT and rode the boxes for 8 years. I never really understood what all she did and even though some of the things on the show are not how… Read more »
As an EMT and a military medic, I have to say this is one of the best shows on television. I was mad when they stopped showing it in the fall, and now to just leave us hanging like they did is just wrong. NBC, Please do not cancel this show. This is a show that really lets society know what we go through as first responders. Trauma is definetly my favorite show.
