It’s 2009 all over again. The Prison Break TV show has been cancelled by FOX. Again. Although the network revived the crime drama for a limited fifth season, there will be no season six, at least not in the near future. FOX CEO Gary Newman did tell Deadline the network is open to future installments, however. Newman noted that, if the producers “came back” with an idea for another season down the line, the network could be open to it.
An action thriller, Prison Break stars Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Mark Feuerstein, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar, Paul Adelstein, Augustus Prew, Rick Yune, and Inbar Lavi.
The FOX TV series revolves around Michael Scofield (Miller), who vowed to help his brother Lincoln Burrows (Purcell), escape from death row.
Prison Break: A Look at the Ratings
The fifth season of Prison Break averaged a 1.03 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.82 million viewers. It landed near the middle of the pack, among FOX TV shows where its demo is concerned, and in the lower third, in terms of total audience size.
Although they wrote the revival as a single season story, the writers had said additional seasons were possible. Apparently, the mediocre ratings did not tempt the network to order more for the 2017-18 season.

I love prison break!!! Been waiting so long for such a short season…def need more to finish the story for Michael he’s a great actor and also the plot with the acting makes this show my favorite. I would love to see more episodes of Prison break even if they aren’t breaking out of prison. The plot twists in this show are crazy intense. Had me on the edge of my chair for all 5 seasons! More more keep going do a 6th, 7th, 8th series etc, I love prison break you can’t get enough of it, it’s never boring always exciting but I must say if Wentworth Miller (Micheal scofield) died for real in the TV show I wouldn’t be able to watch it again he is the main character and he does an amazing job, maybe in the 6th series him and sara have a proper wedding have more kids and in later series Michael braking his son out of prison or something u can never run out of ideas, maybe the 6th of… Read more »
YES! Proper wedding, maybe even double wedding with Link & his new love. And a chance for Michael to actually spend time raising his son. And somebody has to get T-bag out of prison! Come on! Have a contest with fans. Bet you would get enough ideas to last for several more seasons to come. You want to keep the fans happy?

i think it deserves at least a second season…if nothing else at least dont leave it thee way you did …i mean do you even care at all about the people that did watch it or is all you care about is the ratings

While the show was okay, I never did understand how they allegedly fimlmed some scenes in John Wayne Gacy’s cell when Gacy was never an inmate in the prison they filmed in…ask anyone that was in Joliet in 1980 (like I was)
I watched the original series and when the new season came out I binge watched it again before starting the new season. I love this show. It is a constant roller coaster ride. I would very much like to see it continue.
I was excited to see prison break return and very disappointed to see it being cancelled. I decided to watch the series on Netflix and really got into it. Watching season 5 was very intense and slow at first but really picked up and wanted more. I’m hoping fox changes their minds and brings it back there’s more to share if the writers have more ideas. I do have to say that this last episode 9 from season 5 will not be enough for an end to prison break!! Please bring it back for a 6th season! This shoe is so entertaining and wentworth Miller is such an amazing actor in it all.. I love the story and want me !!
