It’s 2009 all over again. The Prison Break TV show has been cancelled by FOX. Again. Although the network revived the crime drama for a limited fifth season, there will be no season six, at least not in the near future. FOX CEO Gary Newman did tell Deadline the network is open to future installments, however. Newman noted that, if the producers “came back” with an idea for another season down the line, the network could be open to it.
An action thriller, Prison Break stars Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Mark Feuerstein, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar, Paul Adelstein, Augustus Prew, Rick Yune, and Inbar Lavi.
The FOX TV series revolves around Michael Scofield (Miller), who vowed to help his brother Lincoln Burrows (Purcell), escape from death row.
Prison Break: A Look at the Ratings
The fifth season of Prison Break averaged a 1.03 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.82 million viewers. It landed near the middle of the pack, among FOX TV shows where its demo is concerned, and in the lower third, in terms of total audience size.
Although they wrote the revival as a single season story, the writers had said additional seasons were possible. Apparently, the mediocre ratings did not tempt the network to order more for the 2017-18 season.

New idea! Let Michael and Lincoln go to work stopping potential prison breaks of gangs, mafia, whoever since they know the ropes on what to look for or be aware of, etc. Lots of story plots if writers just think. Look at viewer’s suggestions!
I was so happy the show was brought back for season 5 and terribly disappointed at the idea that it could be cancelled again! PLEASE reconsider PLEASE!!!!

Prison break is good drama. FOX please film season 6. I am not sure how you calculate your ratings but do a poll not only in the USA Prison break has a huge following but it does not reflect in your ratings. I do not miss sn episode. I record an epidode if i am not available to ensure thst i am up to date. The story line is captivating. Everyone in my household watches this series. Hoping your media folks are reading comments. Bring Prison Break Back. I love this series.
ITs a great show, wish writers would have giving more episodes in this season, could have easily added more, it’s intriguing, please give more, more seasons, love the characters, wanted Mahone to show his face too, would be great to see Michael teach his son!, so many possibilities!

Fox is making another mistake cancelling prison break! We love the show, actors, story line! Its so much better than watching all these stupid reality shows. This is the only show I watch on Fox
What the network fails to realize , is not everyone watches shows as they premiere. I personally watch the show every week, never miss a beat. The problem is, I watch it on Hulu the next day , maybe 2 days after, but that doesn’t count as a rating. Please do not take the show off again.if you add in the hulu ratings, I’m sure it will make a difference in your numbers. #keep prison break on
Prison Break is one of the best shows on tv why would you tease us with just 9 episodes and leave us wanting more??? I absolutely loved each and every scene on all of the episodes, please please please bring it back for season six
Please keep this show going, I find that there will be more to the story. It’s a great show!! And that actors and actress are awesome. I would like to see Micheal have a chance at a real life instead of prison life. I personally love the show and I believe others would agree with me. This show needs to stay going for at least one more season.
They never listen to the fans on these things.

Sad thing is that everyone don’t have Netflix including me. I am so sad to even see this season end with 9 episodes. Most run 14 or more per season. Disappointed in FOX.
