It’s 2009 all over again. The Prison Break TV show has been cancelled by FOX. Again. Although the network revived the crime drama for a limited fifth season, there will be no season six, at least not in the near future. FOX CEO Gary Newman did tell Deadline the network is open to future installments, however. Newman noted that, if the producers “came back” with an idea for another season down the line, the network could be open to it.
An action thriller, Prison Break stars Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Mark Feuerstein, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar, Paul Adelstein, Augustus Prew, Rick Yune, and Inbar Lavi.
The FOX TV series revolves around Michael Scofield (Miller), who vowed to help his brother Lincoln Burrows (Purcell), escape from death row.
Prison Break: A Look at the Ratings
The fifth season of Prison Break averaged a 1.03 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.82 million viewers. It landed near the middle of the pack, among FOX TV shows where its demo is concerned, and in the lower third, in terms of total audience size.
Although they wrote the revival as a single season story, the writers had said additional seasons were possible. Apparently, the mediocre ratings did not tempt the network to order more for the 2017-18 season.

I am shocked. I don’t think they got a chance. I bet they would have been on a more popular station they would have not been dropped.
I can’t believe they cancelled it again. I love prison break. Another network should definitely pick it up if fox is not smart enough to renew it.
I heard that it really wasn’t cancelled they just didn’t have a good story to tell. The problem is fox. Fox plays a lot of dumb comdity like bobs burgers and stuff. 5 season is pretty good tho.
Loved the show, my husband and I went back and saw seasons 1-5 to get the whole prison break story together since it sucks having to wait a whole week for one episode to come out. There should be more!!
Absolutely it should be renewed
It is a Thinkers show…of course I love the actors and characters….but I love the I tense story line also. Although I admit that a lot of the plot in the war zones were above my head.
I hated to see this season end so much that I put off watching the last 2 shows til today…but I had to war fu it now before friends and family told me the ending!
There are a lot of networks Prison Break could return to….i certainly hope it does
Bring it back!!! Prison Break needs to go on! Show has always been first-rate and is in a class by itself. Really excellent series on so many levels.
Second time to be wrong canceling Prison Break. Maybe another network will be smarter and pick it up.
If fox don’t think it’s good they sure are missing out . they should look for a better network toair them.

I loved all the other seasons starting with number 1. Each show had me on the edge of my seat anxious for the next. Please don’t cancel the show on us again. This show has excitement, action, love, hate, and just plain life. BRING THEM BACK, BRING THEM BACK!
I think you should think again because I guarantee that its not 2.8 milion viwer I think Its more than 10 milion viwer but thay watchin it online and on other local TVs witch its broadcasting it, for example how do you know how many people watching it in Iraq or iran or sirya they dont have fox chanall I live in Iraq and there is many people never watched any shows but they watching prison break That night I saw the last epesode of seson 5 I kept trying to find new Tv series to watch but I failed… Read more »
Please keep Prison Break Alive! It’s my favorite show and I waited a long time for Fox to bring it back! Please don’t cancel after 1 season of making a comeback!! I gotta see what T-Bag does to his new cellmate…
