It’s 2009 all over again. The Prison Break TV show has been cancelled by FOX. Again. Although the network revived the crime drama for a limited fifth season, there will be no season six, at least not in the near future. FOX CEO Gary Newman did tell Deadline the network is open to future installments, however. Newman noted that, if the producers “came back” with an idea for another season down the line, the network could be open to it.
An action thriller, Prison Break stars Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Mark Feuerstein, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar, Paul Adelstein, Augustus Prew, Rick Yune, and Inbar Lavi.
The FOX TV series revolves around Michael Scofield (Miller), who vowed to help his brother Lincoln Burrows (Purcell), escape from death row.
Prison Break: A Look at the Ratings
The fifth season of Prison Break averaged a 1.03 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.82 million viewers. It landed near the middle of the pack, among FOX TV shows where its demo is concerned, and in the lower third, in terms of total audience size.
Although they wrote the revival as a single season story, the writers had said additional seasons were possible. Apparently, the mediocre ratings did not tempt the network to order more for the 2017-18 season.

Very sad to hear no season 6 I got hooked on plot line and looked forward to seeing it each week I’m hoping it does make a comeback in future
So sad to see it go. I watched all four seasons when they first aired and then caught up on all four seasons once again a couple months before this new season aired I am so disappointed that another season as not being renewed
Really? You took it off over 7 yrs ago. Did u take in consideration ppl DON’T WANT to start watch a,series with season 5 so I’m sure millions of ppl were on Netflix like my family catching UP. Here’s a clue, maybe U should have a hot line and have ppl vote. That will be e real test. We r all pissed at Fox for this. Why don’t we throw another FAKEREALITY show on, huh? Cause those r the real winners. So disappointed.
Fox keep trash.. They need to try to manage to keep ggod relations with the writers for Prison break and look to air another season !! Love the show !!
Fox keeps shows that are so dumb and that every other network has, but cancels shows like prison break, that is a very original show that always keeps you on your feet. It’s one of my favorite shows and the only reason I watch Fox. Guess I won’t be watching that station anymore.
I would love to see the next season. It’s a good show. I don’t understand why they would not bring it back. Here in China the rating of this show is 9.7 it’s really high. How can they cancel it. PLEASE BRING IT BACK FOR SEASON 6!!!

Yes I watched the “6th” season revival. I was a fan of the original 5 seasons. I loved it then and I still do. I would watch another limited season in the near or distant future if the original cast was back and the story line was just as good.
