The AMC series has not been performing well in the ratings but, according to a listing in the Backstage industry casting paper, Rubicon has been renewed for year two. Here’s their info:
Rubicon (Drama, AMC) A think-tank analyst comes to the realization that his colleagues are not who he thought they were and may be a part of a covert organization secretly manipulating world politics and affairs. James Badge Dale stars. Casting: Avy Kaufman Casting, 180 Varick St., 16th Fl., New York, NY 10014. Premiered Aug. 1. Renewed.
Last Sunday’s episode attracted just a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 997,000 total viewers. That pales when compared to AMC’s Mad Men which scored a 0.6 demo rating and 2.1 million viewers.
The Backstage listing seems like it’s most likely a typo or error because, for now, they seem to be the only one saying there will be another year.
The season finale of Rubicon, “You Can Never Win,” is set to air next Sunday on AMC.
What do you think? Would you like to see Rubicon return for another year or should it be cancelled?

This is a great show. Great character development. Sets up a second season perfectly. Do they keep track of OnDemand views? I’m sure that is a large number.
Hell yes! Rarely is TV as good as this.
Rarely, if ever, have I enjoyed a series as well as Rubicon. Everyone I mentioned it to came back to me later and thanked me. I am not a blog type individual but I demand a second season…I simply want more Rubicon. The story name itself calls out for more. A fantastic way to end a weekend.
Best show ive seen so far which covers an area of espionage! Dont event think about!
Can I get a heck yeah. Finally a good show that actually makes you think and is interesting. Please no more Reality Shows………..
Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss! for a second season.
Yes Please! I fell in love with the cast… A great edge of your seat drama!
Yes. Definitely would love to see more
The acting carries the show – the plot line is thin to non-existent Needs better writing and a more coherent NEW plot but would certainly watch it again. ajl
Its sad that intelligently presented, well written, well produced, TV shows always seem to be on the verge of cancellation. The show must go on.
Attracted by the intelligence of the show, finally something above 8th grade level. James Badge Dale is representative of the trend toward the everyday guy next door image – not exceptional in the looks department, but grows on you until you view him as sensual and appealing.
Yes yes yes! Most intelligent show on TV, superb cast, a modern day Hitchcock thriller
A big yes to Rubicon Season 2.
Please! We need season 2 of this captivating show!
Yes on Season 2!!!!!!
