In the past, Shameless has started a new season having already been renewed for the next season. That’s not the case this time around and the Showtime TV show has been on the air for many years. Will there be an eighth season? Will it be be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.

Shameless continues to tell the story of alcoholic father Frank Gallagher (William H. Macy) and his six smart and independent kids who are working to survive without him. The rest of the cast includes Emmy Rossum, Jeremy Allen White, Cameron Monaghan, Emma Kenney, Ethan Cutkosky, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Justin Chatwin, Joan Cusack, Noel Fisher, Emma Greenwell, Dermot Mulroney, and Isidora Goreshter.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
