The Strain is coming to a close. Today, FX announced the series has been renewed for a fourth and final season, Deadline reports.
From Carlton Cuse, Guillermo del Toro, and Chuck Hogan, the supernatural thriller takes place in a New York City that’s been overrun by a vampire apocalypse. The cast includes Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Natalie Brown, Jonathan Hyde, Kevin Durand, Ruta Gedmintas, and Richard Sammel.
Season three of The Strain just premiered at the end of August. So far, the season has earned low-but-steady ratings, receiving an average of .46 in the 18-49 demo and 1.064 million viewers. The fourth and final season of the series is expected to air in summer 2017.
From FX Networks executive Nick Grad:
We sincerely thank Carlton Cuse, Guillermo del Toro, Chuck Hogan and their creative team as well as the fantastic cast for three exciting seasons of The Strain. Though we’re sad to see it go, we fully support the way in which they are crafting the fourth season’s dramatic conclusion.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Strain? Are you sad it’s ending?
I had fun watching this show, I hope season 4 wraps up and ends in a thrilling conclusion
Crazy. The Strain was excellent. Wrong move.
Love The Strain! One of the best SyFy series on TV next to Walking Dead. It will be missed, along with Somewhere in Between.
One of my favorite sci-fi programs. The acting is awesome. We need more wholesome horror shows with decent writing like The Strain. I hate that it hasn’t caught on with enough viewers. I could watch it for a long, long time.
Please bring back! We miss our Sunday night ritual with the whole gang!
I really liked this series. I DO NOT want it to end. I never watched the Walking. Dead. This series though is great. Don’t cancel it.
