Although the first season of Shooter earned the highest 18-49 demo ratings for USA Network, Suits came in right below it and was still their most watched program in its sixth season. Since Universal Cable Productions is developing a spin-off, with Gina Torres reprising the role of Jessica Pearson, is the end nigh for this legal drama? Will Suits be cancelled or renewed for season eight? Stay tuned.
Suits centers on ace attorney, Harvey Spector (Gabriel Macht) and his college dropout protegé Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams). The USA cast also includes Rick Hoffman, Sarah Rafferty, and Meghan Markle. Dulé Hill is joining in season seven as Harvey’s old friend, Alex Williams, a senior partner at the rival law firm of Bratton Gould. This year, Harvey will step up to fill the void left by Jessica’s departure, while Mike is balancing pro bono work with corporate cases. **Update below.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The sixth season of Suits averaged a 0.42 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.601 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you still like the Suits TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for an eighth season on USA?
** 1/30 update: Suits has been renewed for season eight and USA has announced the season 7B premiere date. Details here.
Love suits just watched all 8 seasons at once. Would be nice to have Patrick J Adams on once in a while to work on cases with the team.
Love Suits! Do not cancel. Just continue without Rachel. She can be away….lol. Love the actors!
Cancel show but agree that Meghan Markle is gone now she has to put on a royal performance of her life she is a phony and so tired of hearing about royal wedding, prince Louis birth was more exciting real royalty not make believe. Kate and prince William are excellent representative of crown. Meghan will never measure up to them harry is making a huge mistake.
Keep suits on just replace the woman who wants to Royal.
Well to tell the truth I love this show, however, the foul language is out of control and needs to be addressed. I am no prude but they don’t need to be so foul mouthed.
Just saying.

It is a great show, leave it on It is so interesting on what they do. The actors are the best
PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL!!!
From other readers too, there are just too many of us out here that loves this show. We definitely DO NOT want to see it end. We ALWAYS NEED OUR SUITS FIX EVERY SEASON.
HOPE RACHEL STAYS @least give her an out, I don’t feel she can be replaced. Dule will be a fantastic addition to the show. Give the show an eight, ninth, tenth season PLEASE!!!
This is still our favorite show on TV. My husband and I will really be upset if it was cancelled. Although, can’t imagine it without Meghan Merkel or Patrick Adams.
Season 7 was disappointing due to the fall-back on profanity and vulgarity (how many times do we have to hear someone say “sh** the bed”, drop an F-bomb or a Godda**) instead of snappy writing. In previous seasons there were many laugh-out-loud witty comebacks. I’d love to see Season 7+ and 8, but writers–step up your game!
I agree, best show in a long time. Please, please renew and keep it going, even if Meghan Markle leaves.
Suits needs more shows involving Louis. You started off hating him, then loved him, then felt sorry for him. His character makes the show so much more interesting and his new secretary’s character is outstanding. I could do less with the Rachel / Mike drama thing. That part’s getting tiring. Stick to the Legal aspects of the shows twists an turns. Excited to hear of Gina’s return to USA via her own Suits spin off show.
