Another TV show won’t be coming back. A&E has cancelled The Returned after one season of 10 episodes.
On The Returned, the residents of a small town have their lives turned upside down when some of their loved ones appear to return from the dead. The cast includes Mark Pellegrino, Tandi Wright, Jeremy Sisto, India Ennenga, Sophie Lowe, Mat Vairo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kevin Alejandro, Sandrine Holt, Dylan Kingwell, Aaron Douglas, Rhys Ward, Leah Gibson, Agnes Bruckner, and Michelle Forbes.
The series debuted with disappointing ratings on March 9th, garnering a 0.58 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.54 million viewers. The numbers got much worse as the season progressed and the 10 episodes ended up averaging a 0.38 demo rating with 1.05 million viewers.
To no surprise, the cable channel has decided not to order any additional episodes. The defacto series finale of The Returned aired on May 11th.

shame shame shame !! this was the Best new series on television as far as I was concerned.. Well rounded cast and a great story line I was very much into and looking forward to for the new season.. I rarely watched tv for 20 years and then time frees up for me for a change and I get into quite a few shows that were new and I caught up on many from the past several years the best I could so far.. but above them all was The Returned.. and I’m sorry.. I loved the show! I have been waiting for season tywo nearly a year and just now decided to look it up! I cannot believe it didn’t get better ratings! I thought it was genius and so was the cast! Very upset by this!
There are many complicated shows with storylines like The Returned that start slow because of the need to get the background information for the story to make sense. Shows need at the least, 2 seasons to establish people, events and information too move forward with the storyline. There are a few TV series that I know would be great successes given the patience and time. Sadly they have been cancelled. The Syfy channel is still the greatest too me. A&E canceled the show, but it was picked up by Sundance and Season 2 has already begun airing.
Here i was wondering when the new season was going to start. I really enjoyed that show. To bad when good shows get cancelled. I find there is more bad shows then good, but yet they are still running

I was really into season one and I am so heartbroken that there will be no season 2. I really wish this series would come back.
Very sad to hear that the show was canceled. I was looking forward to season two. I saw that the Sundance network had season two in French. I was so desperate to see the show that I tried to watch it in French. Could not enjoy it. Very, very, very unhappy!

I was so looking forward to watching season 2 . I watched every episode on season 1 one of the best shows out there. Its sad too see it won’t be brought back again it. Yet stupid shows are still on air. This show had a great story line, action

Seems like every time I like a show the network cancels it. I really liked the American version of The Returned. I had good acting with a good story line. In my opinion It’s a lot better than a lot of shows out there, but I guess it doesn’t matter what we think. Maybe the ratings weren’t so good because me included didn’t know it was on. I watch every episode and loved it. I was waiting for “The Returned” to return. This really saddens me!
