Here are the ratings for The Secret Circle TV series. Based on books by L.J. Smith, The CW is hoping that The Secret Circle will have as much success as their Vampire Diaries, a series that also based on Smith’s work. They’ve paired the two supernatural shows together and only time will tell if the two-hour block lives up to expectations. The first season of The Secret Circle typically airs on Thursday nights at 9pm on The CW network.
These are the TV show’s ratings for the 2011-12 season, the best way to tell if The Secret Circle is going to be cancelled or renewed for season two. Check out our CW ratings report card to see how this show’s numbers compare with the others on the network.

The demo rose a bit this week to a 1.0 rating with 2.13 million. That was an increase of 11%. Because the rest of the network’s shows are doing so poorly, Secret Circle is CW’s second-highest rated show.
Season average: 1.1 demo with 2.43 million.
Episode 01-02: Thursday, 9/22/11:
Ouch! What a difference a week can make. After a positive premiere, Secret Circle ratings took a big dive in week two. The episode rated a 0.9 rating in the demo and 2.12 million viewers. That represents a loss of a whopping 31% in the all-important demographic. It’s certainly not good news. Will the numbers keep dropping?
Season average: 1.1 demo with 2.58 million.
Episode 01-01: Thursday, 9/15/11
Secret Circle debuted to a 1.3 in the 18-49 demographic and 3.05 million viewers. The series premiere held onto most of the audience from the Vampire Diaries lead-in and didn’t lose many viewers as the hour progressed. That’s positive and bodes well for next week. Though it didn’t have much competition, Secret Circle is The CW’s best series premiere of the season.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the The Secret Circle TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
As expected, they resolved Melissa’s (yay, I learned her name!) dilemma in the space of one episode, but they also killed Nick in it. Did they really have to kill off the only character with potential? As much as I don’t see any point in continuing to watch this show, I probably will, providing there’s nothing else I want to watch in that time slot (I tape Person of Interest and watch it the next day). Because there’s so little scripted sci-fi programming left on television that I have to give it a chance, even when the main characters on… Read more »
This totally sucks my mom won’t let me watch it any more because I have a 70 in french the reat all high 90s she is so annoying !!!!!!! and I’m in the freakin 9th grade and 14 ps I go to bed at 9pm??? rep[ly if you think this is fair or not I’m so frurking mad now!!!!!!!
Love it keep it!!!!!
They did the best possible thing for that African American girl (honestly, I can’t be bothered to learn all the characters’ names on this show) by infecting her with that demon. She represented the most boring of the little boring people populating this show. My only fear is that they’ll resolve her dilemma in the space of one episode, relegating her once again to the “best friend of the b*tch who sleeps with that guy” role again. “That guy,” by the way, whose name is Nick, is the most interesting character on the show. Unfortunately, that’s not saying much. I… Read more »
I love this show! It was a bit slow at first, but I like the way they’re developing the characters and building suspense. This is my second favourite show (True Blood is #1) and I really hope TSC gets picked up for a second season. ♥
KEEP IT ON
I’m going to have to agree with “Dewsterling” and not be so quick to jump on the CW applause wagon too hastily. Knowing that Gale Harold and Natasha Henstridge were casted I was eager to watch. However, I was astonished that Cassie embraced her abilities so quickly after literally running from the possibility 30 minutes earlier. Where’s the intriguing plot with the main characters? Seriously lacks the suspense and nail biting hooks of the Vampire Diaries. No competition there.
Mine is a Nielsen household – my DVR skipped E2, but E3 was okay. The series is as slow as TVD was S1. I am half-tempted to skip the rest of the season and pick it up on DVD over the summer as I did with TVD. At this point it feels like TVD’s second-string, like these actors were all alternate choices to the ones who were cast on TVD as if it came down to one or the other actor and they lost…until TSC was being cast and they used the same casting pool. Matt/Luke. Zach/Jeremy. Adam/Stefan. Melissa/Bonnie. And… Read more »
Nahhh, i didn’t like the Secret Circle at alll!!!
And i certainly do not like the storyline…
Orphans finding themselves with unsual powers??? TOO CLICHEE!
The Nielsen system SUCKS! Not a realistic view of any fan base!
This is a great series and a great cast. Lets remember that not everyone is in to the whole sci-fi witch thing. The Secret Circle has a really good storyline and really good producers. There are only two episodes that aired soot peole could watch.
The secret circle is the best show on tv.
It is the best show ever!!!!
Love this show! But, then again.. I love Gale Harold!! more more!!
I totally loved The Secret Circle. Me and my friends had a night in and watched The Vampire Diaries followed by The Secret Circle. Cassie was so cute and Charles Meade was so evil!!
