The demo rose a bit this week to a 1.0 rating with 2.13 million. That was an increase of 11%. Because the rest of the network’s shows are doing so poorly, Secret Circle is CW’s second-highest rated show.
Season average: 1.1 demo with 2.43 million.
Episode 01-02: Thursday, 9/22/11:
Ouch! What a difference a week can make. After a positive premiere, Secret Circle ratings took a big dive in week two. The episode rated a 0.9 rating in the demo and 2.12 million viewers. That represents a loss of a whopping 31% in the all-important demographic. It’s certainly not good news. Will the numbers keep dropping?
Season average: 1.1 demo with 2.58 million.
Episode 01-01: Thursday, 9/15/11
Secret Circle debuted to a 1.3 in the 18-49 demographic and 3.05 million viewers. The series premiere held onto most of the audience from the Vampire Diaries lead-in and didn’t lose many viewers as the hour progressed. That’s positive and bodes well for next week. Though it didn’t have much competition, Secret Circle is The CW’s best series premiere of the season.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the The Secret Circle TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Please, please, please bring it back! I love TV shows about witches and it had been a while to find one I liked (since Charmed, of course). Just make them do more magick next season!
Don’t cancel it. It’s a great show. I love it. I’m not in the demographic but am 30 and still love the show. I just suggest putting Jake and Cassie together instead of Adam. 😛
it is one of the best shows ever
I really like this show. I hope it doesnt get canceled. I like jake with cassie. And i cant wait to find out who the other balcoin child is! I can only watch it online though but i havent missed an episode. I always look forward to the next one!
I love the Secret Circle. It’s one of my favorite shows on television now. I hope this show doesn’t get cancelled. I love it!
I love this show! Typically, I don’t watch teen drama series, but this one is well written, suspenseful, and not cliche of the genre! There are many times when the plot deviates from what you would expect! I like that it has a genuinely unique feel to it! And, I am in their target demo!
its a good show dont cancel it
I absolutely love this show, it would be devestating if you cancelled it!
The show is really AWESOME !…it’s so far my favorite show after True Blood,I think the Europe countries should start to show it also since I live in Germany ,it would be great to see it on the TV screans ..please do not cancel !!
I really wanted to like this show. Based on previews, I was hoping for a new version of “Charmed”. The reason I couldn’t hang on to it was a pretty basic reason, though. If the most important demographic for Nielsen is the 18-49 yr olds, then fixating on the teenage drama with a bit of magic thrown in probably isn’t the best bet. That’s why “Charmed” was such a success. It was fixated on the magic and how their lives intertwined around it, instead of focusing on a bunch of kids with a bit of magic thrown in here and… Read more »
ADORE the show. I waited all summer for it and it has not failed me. I think it’s a keeper FOR SURE especially paired with my ultimate favorite The Vampire Diaries!!
I definitely agree with Amber! The CW should not cancel The Secret Circle, I personally know that I would be very upset considering that I love this show!! DO NOT CANCEL!!!
I definitely agree with Amber! You should not cancel The Secret Circle, I personally know that I love this show!! DO NOT
The Secret Circle has a lot of promise. I think issuing a second season will help the series out a lot. It’ll give the series time to play with more complicated spells as the characters grow into and learn how to use their magic. Right now, they’re just babies when it comes to magic; they have no idea what they’re doing. Most TV shows start off like this. Like The Vampire Diaries… the first season was pretty slow –dwelling on the love and attraction between Stefan and Elena, Vicki’s drug addiction and whining– but as the series went on things… Read more »
