Tyrant was cancelled after just three seasons on FX, and the reasons behind the shocking cancellation have now been revealed. Bert Salke, the FOX 21 President, spoke about those reasons with The Hollywood Reporter.
Salke said the following:
“We knew after the second year and were really aware that for a show we felt so strongly about — and the fan base felt so strongly about — that the numbers weren’t commensurate with the base for the show. Nobody was more aware than the FX people and John wanted to get in front of it. Chris, Howard and the studio went in with very open eyes and hoping for the best. We were getting behind it the same way we do every year and preparing for any number of outcomes. There were no surprises.”
There is hope that the series will return. Tyrant is being actively shopped to streaming services. It could land on Netflix or Hulu.

TYRANT.. it’s up there with the very best series.. Why cancel excellent series, and bombard public with low budget, mind numbing rubbish TV… Bring back TYRANT

Tyrant. Great show, acting exceptional and just binged 3 seasons in 1 week. Once again, left hanging
Tyrant was the most interesting series I’ve watched. I rank it up there with shows such as Snowfall, SOA, and Mayans M.C. Its a shame a show this entertaining was cancelled.
Why do you guys always cancel the best series? “The numbers weren’t commensurate for the base of the show>.” But But cheap, inferior series go for years and years. And years…..

Even with the slick propaganda being dropped, the show still has some good plots. Lets get this season kicked off.

Stop playing with our emotions and drop the 4th and 5th Season already. If you could hold on to the Strain as long as you did, Tyrant should be even easier to keep going. We want to see Bassam’s 50 year rule.

Absolutely a 4th season for Tyrant we are currently ending season 3 with two presidents! Do this show justice. If season 4 is the last see this show put with a decent ending!
