Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

I was wanting ABC to give us at least a closure episode but I guess it’s too late. I would watch it again if ABC brings it back.
Hate to hear that it’s been cancelled. The cliffhanger was the best episode yet. I was looking forward to Season 3.
Wow–I can hardly wait to find out who wins the next not-so-amazing-race or who doesn’t make it through the what-won’t you-eat-for-a-million-dollars challenge… SERIOUSLY…?!
There needs to at least be a movie to wrap up loose ends…better yet…a mini series or full-season series! I keep swearing I’ll not watch another tv show until the wrap up season is available on DVD–that way I won’t get invested/interested in something the networks don’t/wont even see through to a conclusion.
BOO for cancelling V 🙁
Bring it back please
I’m sooooo disappointed that V has been cancelled. My husband and I have enjoyed it since the first episode. I hope another network picks it up. Shame on you ABC for sucking us in and leaving us hanging!!!
I have been waiting all summer for this to re-start and just read it was cancelled. I don’t know ANYONE that watches this show that does not love it! I hate that this has been cancelled. Another station should pick it up!
This stinks. I really enjoyed it. I’m so sick of reality tv. I have a life I don’t want to watch someone else’s. Or these singing and dancing shows I hate them.
This the third show that ABC has cancelled and I’m done!! No more ABC shows for me!!!
I agree-I hate that i get involved in the charaters and story line-with cliffhanger endings, and then…..that’s it! and like the other response-I am so tired of REALITY TV! The point of entertainment is to “take you away”, not make you see the ugliness of true life out there! aiy!
I have been waiting and waiting for V to start up again… I’m so tired of rotten TV, all you see are bad girls garbage and teen garbage. Do you guys realize how many 50 somethings are desperately looking for some decent clean entertaining TV???? I’m so tired of all the sex and scandal. Can’t you guys write a decent story any more?
Anyway… bring V back. At least it was CLEAN and entertaining!
We had a V party……. Bring it back please
WHAT??????? I’ve been looking forward to this season,,,,,,, BRING V BACK!
Bring back V Loved it and was looking forward to season 3
At least do 1 more episode or a TV movie to tie up all the loose ends. It really is pathetic not to do that for all the viewers who DID watch!
Here, here. I can’t remember the last time I watched a series through to it’s finale (well, Seinfeld, but that was nothing but an anti-climactic let down…)
Come on networks. At least give the fans who DID watch a chance to read on to the final chapter and page!
Boo, hiss, for leaving me hanging yet again.
BRING BACK V! I’ve been looking forward to the third season since the finale of season two. Now there is no end 🙁
I loved the show. I can’t believe they canceled it!
