Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

I’ve been looking for the return of “V” and just now found that it is not returning! How sad for all of “V’s” fans. One of the few show that my husband never missed seeing. I hope it returns with the same actors.
What a shame…My husband & I loved the series. I was hoping the Vs would return!
It was a great show, and I was really looking foward to seeing what happened. I really feel like not getting attached to new shows cause they always remove the good ones. Please bring it back!!!!
I can’t f*cking believe these idiots….yeah go ahead and cancel a good show and replace it with some stupid ass reality piece of sh*t…….
You corporate execs are a bunch of over paid retards!!!!!
Can’t wait for the upcoming garbage!!! Napoleon Dynamite??? Really?????
******* Idiots
I was a big fan of the original series and thought this updated remake was even better.I’m sad to see it go.I hope someone else gives it a chance and picks it up.Maybe the show needed a new night. It definitely deserves a chance.
Yes. It really saddens me I enjoyed this ABC TV series it was so intriguing I looked forward to a season im having “V” withdrawal symptoms ABC should really consider putting my favorite TV series back on the air!!
Dumb ******** at ABC!!! I really liked this show. Don’t even know a good thing when you have it. Sell it to another studio so we can watch it there. Most likely it costs too much to make and wasn’t reaping in as much money as a result. The same crap we are fed all these years.. reality shows, cop and hospital series cost next to nothing in comparison. Why do you all think there are so many reality shows!!! In the meantime they banking on us watching that crap.
Whoever these powers that be are, they shoul dnot start something that they are not willing to finish.
The series V really caught my imagination and it was the only program I watched regularly. I’m extremely disappointed that it was taken off. An earlier time slot may have attracted more of an audience.
V was too close to the present
Your right. Some things in the show seemed to be following reality. The Bigger Powers might not have liked that.
I too was looking forward to another season of V. I have no idea why it didn’t do as well as expected. I loved it!! Please bring it back!!!
i was looking forward to another season of v i dont think it caught on because there was too much dialogue and needed more action i definately think it would of caught if it were more action packed it already had a good storyline so yeah
after reading ALL of the comments (that were in English) there isn’t one person that doesn’t want this show brought back. I think ABC needs to listen to the fans.
Totally agree! V should come back; they could do a wrap-up movie, at least.
I wondered what was going on since I hadn’t seen anything on ABC about the show’s return. MAJOR MISTAKE by ABC! One of the few series remakes that definitely had potential. I was really enjoying this show – one of very few shows I regularly watch on any network. Now I have to check this one off my list. Same thing happened a few years ago when two other science fiction based TV series were cancelled after only one season. Great potential, but the “powers that be” weren’t willing to see it. Most “entertainment” shows on TV these days are… Read more »
