Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

I am and was very upset that they cancelled ” V ” it was a show, that me and my wife really enjoyed watching. The way they put the show on TV , i am not surprise that the rating were low. you get people into the show and then show it MID season …what is ABC doing, it obvious that they have no clue ..like when they cancelled GEORGE LOPEZ for those stupid, Gieco cavemen … – hopeful SyFy would pic up the show and put it on .. I KNWO IF THEY DO I WOULD watch it !!!!… Read more »
i am not happy they canceled v.i haven’t looked forward to watching a show this much
since x files ended.at least they cared enough about the fans to have an endding on that show .but that was a different network.they could have done a tv movie to wrap it up.
i woud have enjoyed that.
The TV stations never give a show a chance. They only did 10 episodes the 2nd season & brought it on mid-season?????????? By the time people get back in the groove of watching it then it’s gone again. It’s just like the shows they keep moving around & pre-empting so that you can never find them to watch & then they take them off due to falling ratings! If you’d give us a regular season & keep the show on at the same time or night maybe it would catch on! Most network shows suck anymore. We watch the news… Read more »

I’m so sad that it ends at season two. I just want to know what will happen in season 3..
I WANT V BACK!
Please, make another season, or maybe a fiew episodes, so we all know what will happen…
ABC has often done stupid things. That is the reason they are beat by CBS, NBC and even FOX. I wish this show would have been done on SyFy. We would still be viewing the show. The networks always leave us wondering. The least these idiots could do is give us a ending. Actually, I watch CW more than the rest. Then CBS is my other favorite.
My question for ABC is, when you did your statistics on viewer watching, did you consider the many people with DVR that would record and watch the show later. My wife doesn’t even like watching series/movies like this, but like clock work, my wife was ready for V when it came on. I considered V to be one the best series shows I had ever seen. There are not too many shows that would actually make me go to work and talk to people about it, but this one did. The only other show that made me talk to my… Read more »
My Husband and I were huge fans of V!! So sad to hear they canceled it! Figures all the good shows never last 🙁 ABC you pissed off a lot of people!!!! ABC you SUCK!!!! We want V back!!!!!
V is truly an original series. Perhaps ABC is trying to self-destruct? So few shows capture my attention, and this was one of the few that did. V just kept getting better with each episode.
The last episode brought something new to the table that i can’t stop thinking about: Anna’s words to Lisa: “now that’s how you kill your mother”. So horrifying and horrifyingly funny, all at the same time. How much fun did the writers have creating that scene?
ABC!! What’s wrong with you? You didn’t promote the show properly and then you pulled the plug? Unadulterated stupidity.
