NBC is developing Vlad, a 30-minute sitcom with Undateable executive producers Adam Sztykiel and Bill Lawrence, the latter of Scrubs and Cougar Town fame. Variety reports that the multi-cam family project is inspired by the life of comedian Vladimir Caamaño.
From Variety:
Caamaño is set to star in the potential series, which has landed a put pilot commitment at NBC.
The 30-minute, multi-camera family comedy is loosely based on Vladimir Caamaño’s real-life family dynamic living with his Dominican father and older brother in the Bronx.
Sztykiel and Caamaño will pen the project, hailing from Lawrence’s Doozer production banner and Warner Bros. TV. Caamaño will pull triple duty, also serving as a co-exec producer, while Sztykiel and Lawrence will exec produce with Doozer’s Jeff Ingold.
