TV show description:
Created by Josh Schwartz, this steamy drama revolves around a group of families of Newport Beach in Orange County, California.

The series opens as underprivileged 17-year-old Ryan Atwood (Benjamin McKenzie) begins a new life with public defender Sandy Cohen (Peter Gallagher) and his family. The Cohen family includes Sandy, wife Kirsten Cohen (Kelly Rowan), and awkward son Seth (Adam Brody). Seth dates the very social Summer Roberts (Rachel Bilson).

At his new school, Ryan meets and falls for Summer’s best friend, Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton) who is the daughter of Julie Cooper-Nichol (Melinda Clarke) and the older sister of Kaitlin (Willa Holland).

The series often features the music of a number of little-known bands.
