BBC America has ordered a second season of Atlantis, their new TV series.
Atlantis debuted on November 23rd and drew 838,000 viewers, the cable network’s highest-rated series premiere for their Supernatural Saturday block. The high numbers very likely came at least in part because of the show’s big lead-in, the Doctor Who anniversary episode. There are 13 episodes in the current season.
“Atlantis is off to a fantastic start and is the centerpiece of our Saturday nights for the next 12 weeks,” notes BBC America’s senior vp programming Richard De Croce. “We’re committed to bringing our viewers even more entertaining episodes inspired by Greek mythology from Howard and the talented team in season two.”

love this show!!! saw the name, which intrigued me…. saw the first episode, realized it was about mythology and got instantly hooked!!!!! saw the whole first season in 3 days!!!

I love everything mythology. I love the series and cast from day one. I’m strong fan of stargate. I own all episodes and movies including stargate Atlantis and sgu. To me this episodes of Atlantis are the next best thing so far. Hope there’s lot of people out there that feel the same way so that the show can go for many many seasons. Keep up the good work. Awesome. Go Atlantis ready for season 2.

I think the main characters are great together in this very imaginative take on Greek Mythology. It’s just a lot of fun!

I like it I wasn’t sure at first but it’ has caught my interest. I was hoping to find a show that could replace Merlin in the fantasy department and Atlantis is it Thanks!
Atlantis is great because the characters really work well together, the storyline is unusual/entertaining, the humor is very funny, and it is altogether one of the best shows on TV. I am so glad I happened upon it while channel surfing and can’t wait for season 2! I think the acting of each of the characters is terrific!
