Could there be a Banshee spin-off? Recently, showrunner Jonathan Tropper discussed his plans for the recently ended Cinemax series.
The action drama starred Antony Starr as an ex-con who assumes the identity of a small-town sheriff. The cast also included Ben Cross, Ivana Milicevic, Rus Blackwell, Ryann Shane, and Ulrich Thomsen. Banshee aired its final episode on May 20th.
When asked if he had any plans for a spin-off series, Tropper said there have been informal talks:
There are no investors, other than Cinemax. We have had some offhanded talks about it, but nothing in television really comes from talks like that. I think the only way any kind of spin-off or sequel would happen would be if I had a very clear vision of a great new show featuring some of these characters, and I would have to pitch it to Cinemax like any other show.”
He added that he would be open to a spin-off with Starr:
I don’t think we will be doing any spin-offs, but I’m always open to it. And if we did, I couldn’t imagine doing it without Antony.”

Why the hell would you not do a spin-off… even if it is like 5-10 years from now. I think whatever you do with these characters, as long as the story is solid and the acting and action is on-point, will be undeniably awesome. But it all comes down to if the people involved REALLY want to put in the passion and energy necessary to produce any kind of befitting follow-up to the original, which was ******* tremendous.
Just started watching HBO reruns of Banshee. Loved the show first time and love it more the secomd time. If it was brought it back, I think it would be a huge, huge hit and welcomed back. Perfect cast.
Just watched the entire 4 seasons of Banshee again! Love this programme and it’s time there was more !!

Banshee is the greatest series I’ve ever watched. Besides Starr, real favorite, is Hoon Lee! Now I could see him have his own show. His acting is fantastic! Love love. Love him. First time ever seeing him. Yes please bring back Banshee. May be the craziest show on TV, but it is the best, by far.

I’m so bummed out. Was looking for something to watch and came across Banshee and got hooked immediately. Binge watched in 2 days. Love this show. I finally found a great show only to hear it was canceled. Please bring it back!!

Why this isn’t as well known as The Sopranos I have no idea. It’s a shame that the series won’t continue. Very grateful for it’s existence just the same.

Banshee was a pleasant surprise. So underrated. A spinoff would be warmly welcomed in my opinion.i miss that show

I love the program I want it back on and ended in season 4 can’t we have a season 5 and 6 and 7 like Walking Dead please bring it back .
Please do a spinoff from Banchee!! We just watched all the seasons today and realized that there is not a show that even comes close to how very much this show keeps you on the edge of your seat. It was superb!
I think the series Banshee was an awesome show series to watch. I was very disappointed to hear that there was no further series going to take place or filmed. However if Bsnshee returns with a series with the same actors I will so over joyed… again awesome series so very sad it ended.

I DONT UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM. sUPERB WRITING,ACTING,SUPERB PLOTLINES, SO MANY LOOSE ENDS. THIS SHOW WAS SO SUCCESSFUL IT ABSOLUTELY BEGS ANOTHER 4 SEASONS. I HAVE ALL 4 SEASONS ON DVD AND HAE STARTED TO COLLECT THEM ON BLUE RAY.I HAVE ALREADY WATCHET IT ALL 4 TIMES OVER. I BEG YOU TO TAKE ANOTHER LOOK. JUST SUPERB.
