Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Please bring back season 4!! I’ve watched all episodes and am left stunned that such a GREAT CLEAN show will not return for another season
I love, LOVE, LOVE cedar cove. It’s an amazing show. Rare to find good one these days. I hate that you left all of us huge fans hanging with so any unanswered questions. I would love to see a follow up movie or another season at least…..broke my heart to hear there is no more cedar cove. And with that ending ugh….the suspense
Please bring the show back! It left us with so many unanswered questions and I felt like the plot was opening up by bringing in the new characters and the long lost daughter of Roy and Gloria. There is still so much that can happen! I love the series and the town of Cedar Cove. I read the books and enjoyed them so much that it was fun to see them come to life.
How very disappointing that you would cancel and leave us all hanging! Shame shame
I loved the Cedar Cove story; you quit too soon! oh ye of little faith!!
Yes Bring it back along with the Devious Maid
Yes please bring it back it’s one of my favorite shows ever!
I really enjoyed Cedar Cove. I loved the story with the twists in the relationships. Please bring it back. Over 2 million viewers tells me it’s a success. You gave up too soon. It’s been hard knowing that it’s not coming back. It’s difficult to find a interesting series on TV without swearing, and constant sex and sexual innuendos, etc.
Wow, just found out no more cedar Cove. Was really enjoying the series…. and yet the Good Witch goes on?? I liked cedar Cove much, much more…please do a Hallmark movie that will give us closure, who makes these decisions anyway???
Please do a 60 or 90 minute movie to bring closure for Cedar Cove viewers. I loved the show. I don’t get the Hallmark channel so I watched the series on Netflix. I kept waiting for season 4. I was hoping we would see how the show would end with solutions to the situations unsolved and left hanging in the air. Not a nice thing to do to the viewers. I will not watch a Hallmark series again, NOT EVER.
I just finished watching all of the seasons and I have to say I loved them So refreshing to watch a good romance fun show with no sex and vulgar languages I’m so very sad that it’s not coming back
Yes I think it should at least be taken to an end. Don’t just stop in the middle.
It such a shame that everyone is left hanging. Shame on Hallmark! At least do a 2 or 3 hour finale. you
Bring it back, dump Jack and fix Olivia up with Paul. Jack just drags her down. Also, try to get Olivia to stop whining so much when she talks!
Please bring back the series. The ratings had not dropped that much! Over a million viewers should account for something!
