The Bowmaan family is hanging it up. USA Network has cancelled the Colony TV show after three seasons. Fans have suspected a cancellation was on the way, because this year, the series does not have an official presence at San Diego Comic-Con, which is currently underway. Reportedly, episode 3.13, “What Goes Around Comes Around,” which airs Wednesday, July 25th at 10:00pm ET/PT, will serve as the Colony TV series finale.
A USA Network sci-fi drama from Carlton Cuse and Ryan J. Condal, Colony stars Josh Holloway, Sarah Wayne Callies, Tory Kittles, Peter Jacobson, and Alex Neustaedter. The story unfolds in the near-future, in a world where citizens are under military occupation, as a part of a larger extraterrestrial invasion. Former FBI agent Will Bowman (Holloway) and wife Katie (Callies) struggle to reunite and rebuild their family as they fight to uncover the truth behind the occupation.
Colony: A Look at the Ratings
Leading up to the season three finale, the third season of Colony is averaging a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 672,000 viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 36% and 18%, respectively. Check out how Colony stacks up against other USA Network TV shows.

i am disappointed in this. it finally was getting good. Then they cancel it without any closure. season 3 was the best and the ending was fantastic making me want to wattch the 4th. Yes it was little slow in begginning but came together.
Great show! The 3rd season was the best! To just end it like they did is terrible! I watched another TV show where they just ended it suddenly and the fans reacted so much so that they did a season finally after like a year. Which at least gave us some closure in the end..

This is disappointing news indeed. Colony is a fascinating show, both entertaining and thought-provoking as is explores the limits of humanity, and the lengths one will go to so they can preserve self and family. What lines will you cross, what are your absolute limits of acceptable behavior toward your fellow man? I read a fascinating article which featured an interview with writers Carlton and Cuse after Season 2, and apparently they had already discussed ideas as far ahead as a Season 7. Colony was actually a really good sci-fi series and should have been allowed to grow with it’s fan base. Acting was good and story line was good as well – the so called finale left us all hanging since it wasn’t designed to be a series finale – oh well I didn’t expect USA to cancel this so fast like the major networks do – too bad.
Season 3 was by far the best so far. They are crazy for cancelling this series. I so badly wanted to see where it was going. Wholly disappointed!
