The CW has announced their schedule this summer which includes the premieres of several new and returning programs. They include Beauty and the Beast (May 21st), Penn & Teller: Fool Us (July 6th), Dates (July 9th), Masters of Illusion (July 10th), Significant Mother (August 3rd), America’s Next Top Model (August 5th) and A Wicked Offer (August 5th).
Whose Line Is It Anyway? and The Messengers start their seasons next Friday, April 17th.

April 13, 2015 (Burbank, CA) – Continuing to bolster its schedule with more year-round original programming, The CW Network has set its summer premiere dates, including the series debuts of SIGNIFICANT MOTHER, DATES and A WICKED OFFER, the return of magic series PENN AND TELLER: FOOL US and MASTERS OF ILLUSION, and Cycle 22 of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL. As previously announced, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will premiere its 13-episode third season as part of The CW’s 2015 summer line-up on Thursday, May 21 (8:00-9:00 pm ET).
The magic competition series PENN & TELLER: FOOL US returns with all new episodes Monday, July 6 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET). PENN & TELLER: FOOL US is a one-hour competition series celebrating magic and featuring the legendary duo Penn & Teller. On each episode of PENN & TELLER: FOOL US, aspiring magicians are invited to perform their best trick to try and fool the world-famous team of Penn & Teller. Anyone who succeeds wins the right to perform with Penn & Teller in their celebrated show at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The live studio audience and the TV audience watch along with Penn & Teller as they try to figure out the secrets. Penn & Teller see the trick only once, and have to immediately try to work it out. The live studio audience knows there are no camera tricks, secret edits or helpful camera cuts. This is all real magic. After the debut of PENN & TELLER: FOOL US, thecurrent season ofThe CW’s hit improv comedy WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? moves from Friday to itsnew night beginning Monday, July 6, with all new episodes at 9:00-9:30p.m. ET, followed by an encore episode of WHOSE LINE at9:30-10:00p.m. ET.
The British series DATES, in which each episode focuses on a first date between two people who have met on an online dating service, debuts with back-to-back episodes Thursday, July 9 (9:00-9:30 p.m. ET and 9:30-10:00 p.m. ET), following original episodes of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. The series explores the issues, intricacies, romance, and danger of modern relationships and the thrills, calamities, lies, and truths of first dates. Featuring a cast that largely changes with each episode, DATES includes such stars as Oona Chaplin (“Game of Thrones”), Ben Chaplin (“Thin Red Line”), Andrew Scott (“Sherlock”), Katie McGrath (“Dracula”), Amanda Hale (“The White Queen”) and Gemma Chan (“Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit”). Bryan Elsley created the series that aired on Channel 4 in Great Britain. DATES is produced by Balloon (Dates) Ltd., and distributed by eOne.
Premiering Friday, July 10 (8:00-8:30 p.m. ET), these 13 all-new half-hour episodes of MASTERS OF ILLUSION feature great escapes, fascinating sleight-of-hand, and large scale illusions, all in front of a studio audience. Hosted by actor Dean Cain (“Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”), the series features amazing magic performed by cutting-edge illusionists and escape artists, and performers in each episode display skills ranging from perplexing interactive mind magic to hilarious comedy routines. Live audience members and viewers at home will be baffled by the astounding skills of these modern illusionists. In SIGNIFICANT MOTHER, premiering Monday, August 3 (9:30-10:00 p.m. ET), budding Portland restaurateur Nate’s (Josh Zuckerman) world is turned upside down when he comes back from a business trip to find his lothario best friend and roommate, Jimmy, is now dating his recently separated mother, Lydia (Krista Allen). To make matters worse, Nate’s previously disinterested dad, Harrison (Jonathan Silverman) is now determined to win Lydia back and isn’t afraid to use Nate to get what he wants. Stuck between his family feud and his best friend’s first serious relationship, Nate’s “new normal” forever changes his relationships with his parents, and severely handicaps his own dating life. SIGNIFICANT MOTHER was initially developed as a digital series for CW Seed, The CW’s digital studio, before being ordered to series for the broadcast network.

AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL returns with an all new cycle of guys and girls competing for the TOP MODEL title on Wednesday, August 5 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET). AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL is produced by 10 by 10 Entertainment in association with The Tyra Banks Company. The executive producers are Ken Mok (“Making the Band”), Tyra Banks, Dana Gabrion, and Laura Fuest Silva. The series was created by Tyra Banks and developed by Mok and Kenya Barris. In the outrageous, darkly comic one-hour series A WICKED OFFER, premiering Wednesday, August 5 (9:00-10:00 p.m ET), couples are presented with a series of Faustian bargains, as they must decide to complete a series of scandalous and controversial tasks involving their unsuspecting friends, families and co-workers for cash prizes. With each challenge testing the couple’s moral and ethical boundaries, the couples must weigh the potential havoc wreaked on their relationship with each other and everyone involved. As each task is completed, the stakes and the cash value are raised, forcing the couple to decide how far they’re willing to go for money. A WICKED OFFER is executive produced by Bobby Sizemore (“Giuliana and Bill,” “Tori and Dean”) and by Jenny Daly (“Storage Hunters,” “Mystery Diners,” “Container Wars,” “Invention USA”) through her T Group production company.

This line up seems bland with a capital B in my opinion! Too many “game shows” and reality programming makes for a dull night. Unless you’re into those kind of shows and from what I know from friends and family (and I have alot of friends!!) the entire genre of reality shows should be “voted off the planet!” Ha! They are all somewhat scripted because they are, in reality, worse than watching a home movie without help from the directors and writers and they HAVE TO script some of the situations and scenes or no one would watch these silly… Read more »
