Tomorrow has finally arrived. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow premieres tonight, and the series’ executive producer Phil Klemmer has discussed future plans for the new CW superhero show in a recent interview with TVGuide.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, a time travel who brings a group of heroes and villains together to defeat super villain Vandal Savage. The cast includes Wentworth Miller, Brandon Routh, and Victor Garber.
Speaking to TVGuide, Klemmer discussed what could happen on season two of the new series. In November, we reported that season two could feature a new cast, including the character Constantine, whose own NBC series was cancelled last year after one season:
here is definitely room. This season is meant to be a chapter in the anthology. We have no idea where we want to leave things after this season. Our team can have new members. It can have missing members. It can have people who switch sides. That’s the great thing about this show. Season 2 is not meant to be a pressing of the reset button. We want to burn through all of the possible story we can here. We want to make sure that we can never go home again, that the dynamics of this season will be irrevocably changed. Our team for Season 2, if not in the [physical] makeup of the team, will be changed in the way that [the characters] will be different [people]. Season 1 is meant to be standalone. We want to leave everything on the field and figure Season 2 out later.”
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow premieres tonight at 8 p.m. on The CW.
What do you think? Will you watch DC’s Legends of Tomorrow tonight? Would you like to see Constantine appear on the series?
No Constantine, Go for Dr. Fate .
How come they never added in Constantine after carter died?
I think they’re waiting to find out if Legends get renewed or not before signing any new contracts. But yeah, it wouldn’t hurt to have Matt Ryan guest star first to see the new show’s ratings increase and to see if Constantine can fit in with this motley crew of time-travelling heroes & rogues. Worse comes to worse if Legends of Tomorrow doesn’t get renewed maybe they can resurrect Constantine (Pun intended.) to replace the series instead,
I’m watching because I really want Matt Ryan to join the show as John Constantine but first, the challenge will be for the series to be able to draw enough interest to last through Season One. I’m hoping to hear soon if it gets renewed. (Feb 9, 2016)
+Myridean:It did say they would be having new characters appear if and when the show gets to season 2.but then John Constatine Is in Hell.
Yeah, I heard that but that’s because the writers didn’t want a recurring guest star to come in and save the day as it’s a show focused on Oliver Queen & friends facing the main villain of the season. John would be the appropriate nemesis to Damian Dark as they are both magick oriented. Even if Constantine is in Hell now, who says they can’t pick up John Constantine earlier in his timeline perhaps even before the Newcastle incident or much later when he manages to leave Hell on his own or rescued (He is a DC “cape” w/o the… Read more »
