Downward Dog has arrived. This week. ABC released the first episode of the new TV series online.
Based on the web series of the same name, the comedy “follows the day-to-day life of Nan (Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated Allison Tolman, “Fargo”), as told by her increasingly lonely and philosophical dog, Martin (voiced by Samm Hodges).”
ABC will air a sneak peek of Downward Dog after the season finale of Modern Family on May 17th.
But you can check out the entire first episode below:

What do you think? Do you watch ABC? Will you check out Downward Dog?
My imagination allows me to believe a dog can think; but the moving lips are totally distracting: I KNOW a dog can’t talk!!!! Remove that feature and the show becomes a real joy to watch
It was a bit slow to start but by the end i felt it was heartwarming and the end was great. I hope it gets picked up for a full season
it’s going on my list. Dry, perfect humour
Clever, funny new show.
I’m five minutes into the first episode and I cannot stand watching it. I’m not a millennial feminist nor a social justice warrior, so that is probably why I find it horrible. Loved it!!!!! I have anxiously awaiting this show beginning and I can see I will not be disappointed!! Of course I will watch again on 5/17/17 so I can see it on the big screen in the full HD experience! I love the relationship between Nan and Martin it is often how I have thought mine is with my lab mix Molly. I have often wondered where she thinks I go when I get in the car everyday. Thank you for bringing this to my TV! I cannot wait to see the whole season! Loved the sneak peak, has me… Read more »
Just watched the first episode….not at all what I expected. I’m disappointed, I thought it would be funny and lighthearted, it’s not. It seems a bit dark and depressing. Also, I live in Pittsburgh and was very insulted by the comment from Nan’s boss about the people of Pittsburgh.
