Last season, Gotham saw another big drop in the ratings but it remained one of FOX’s top scripted shows. If the numbers continue to drop, could the show be cancelled or, is it all but guaranteed to be renewed for a fourth season because of syndication? Stay tuned.
A dark crime drama, Gotham tells the early stories of police detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and iconic Gotham City characters — before they became legendary crimefighters, villains, and heroes. Season three begins with Gordon taking matters into his own hands and becoming a vigilante. The rest of the cast includes Donal Logue, Morena Baccarin, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Erin Richards, David Mazouz, Camren Bicondova, Cory Michael Smith, Jessica Lucas, Chris Chalk, Drew Powell, and Michael Chiklis.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
6/6 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The second season of Gotham averaged a 1.40 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.09 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Gotham TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
5/10 update: FOX has renewed Gotham for a fourth season. Details here.
The ratings indicate that taking a long break from January to April cost the show a half a million viewers.
Bad move!
I like the series Gotham, seeing the how everything is and has grown not only with Jim Gordon but also with Bruce Wayne and all of the main villians. It would do no justice if they cancel the show. Let the stories play on until Bruce becomes the Dark Knight.
This is my favorite show. Please renew it.
I have been following “Gotham” since its debut episode.
The show itself is starting to lose its luster a bit. The writers really screwed things up with choosing to “revive” previously dead villains. Moreover, the addition of “Bruce’s doppelganger” seems to be out of place for a Batman origins TV series as well. On that note, it is my belief that the aforementioned reasons, along with the long hiatuses, may be why this show has lost some of its audience.
Gotham is such an awesome show and it definitely should continue on!!!
I hope Gotham has a 4th season especially as the story is really taking an interesting turn
Ok, I absolutley love this show. It is the only show that I keep up on and look forward too. I am a huge nerd and I love the DC Universe. The fact that this show is a Gotham Origins story caught my attention. I love the theme and the character development. Please don’t get rid of this show, it’s still in it’s prime. I also would like to see how everyone changes into who they really are. Thank you to the cast and crew behind this memorable show!

Please renew Gotham for season 4. I l9ve this show
Keep Gotham going for season 4 I love this show
When I first started to watch Gotham, it was different than I was expecting and I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. NOW, between Arrow, The Flash & Gotham, I Like all three but I think Gotham is now my favorite. Please keep it going. I Love the Film Noir Look of this series and like more of the character portrayals in this series than the others.
I have followed DC characters since I was a kid which is many, many years ago and while I love the acting in this show, which is phenomenal in my opinion, I think the writers have lost the whole atmosphere of the original characters where there was at least the hint of some fun and stories that made you think at least a little but these stories are simply an excuse for gore, madness and death and if the writers are aiming for some sort of drastic humour in all this then maybe they should be shifted to Arkham.
Ridiculous if they cancel this. I hope the network understands how badly other channels are struggling to even get their shows into a 1.+ with the 18-49 demo let alone pull 3+ mil. viewers per episode. That’s GOOD… I hate these networks so much. They always want to pull away what’s working and ruin it for everyone, always.
