Last year, Helix did pretty well in the ratings so Syfy renewed it for a second season. Will the ratings rise or fall this time around? Cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
A thriller series, Helix follows a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to the Arctic. They find themselves pulled into a terrifying life-and-death struggle that could decide the future of humankind. The cast includes Billy Campbell, Kyra Zagorsky, Mark Ghanimé, Jordan Hayes, Neil Napier, Matt Long, Steven Weber, Jim Thorburn, and Christina Rosato.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
4/29 update: Syfy has cancelled this series after two seasons. Details here.
Final season averages: 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 560,000 total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Helix averaged a 0.5 rating in the demo with 1.39 million viewers.
What do you think? Do you like the Helix TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a third season?
ABSOLUTELY RENEW OR LOOAE ME, WAS GREAT AND FUN pLEASE RENEW RENEW.
Amazing series I love how it evolved from season 1 to season 2!
The second season was mysterious as hell but i loved the plot, the new actors, the new storylines! This season activated my brain and made me think what the hell is going on! I demand that this awesome series will be renewed for another amazing season. All of my friends that are watching Helix are amazed…
– All of you that are critisizing this awesome season go watch your bored series that deactivate your brain instead of make you think!
Season 2 was slow and the last 6 episodes was good. I think the time line with Sara and Alan’s baby was jacked up and wrong. This show has its slow moments and if it wasn’t schedule on my dvr I woul forget it was on. I do think they should do a 2 part movie and finish it
They can’t really figure out the ratings without taking on-demand and DVR numbers into account. My family and I can’t do appointment viewing so we NEVER watch original airings. We either DVR or do on-demand, and we watch them all. There must be many. many more like us.
#RenewHelix I just found the series on Netflix and became addicted. I was lucky enough to have seen all of Season 1 on Netflix before Season 2 started on Syfy. The network did nothing to promote Season 2 of Helix. They solely promoted 12 Monkeys and Face Off. For fans who discovered Helix on Netflix (and there are millions) they could not watch Helix live on the network because Episode One “San Jose” was not available for them to watch on Syfy.com. So new fans have to wait for Season 2 on Netlfix. I think Helix should find another network… Read more »
I enjoyed both seasons! True fan! Understand ratings weren’t what the network had hoped for, but if they do not plan on a 3rd season, at least do a movie to explain all the questions unanswered! The the story line, would love to see where the writers would have taken it!
The second season started wired and got my attention but as the weeks went on it just seemed strange to me the end of season finale should be the series finale and l have never said that
CANCEL!! This show is officially terrible in my book. Sloppy writing, plotlines full of holes.
One of the worst finales ever. I started losing interest about halfway in, but this finale was terrible. I am done with this show. Also Fortitude was terrible too. I feel like I wasted hours watching those two shows. Thank goodness for the most amazing new show, The 12 Monkeys. That is a quality mesmerising show.
I liked season 1, and wondered where season two would go. I must admit I like the strangeness of it all, I hope it gets renewed for a third season.
This season was a little all over the place ,BUT it did make sense as you watched it , you found out that illaria was trying to either wipe out mankind with the season one disease. This year the island had a new disease. that would eventually kill off even the immortals. but they also may have found a disease to make men sterile. However the women in the basement deal was of no real purpose I think. Still this is interesting sci fi, lets hope it comes back for another season. although It probably won’t sadly. They do need… Read more »
I wateched Season 1 because I thought it had promise and I could stick it out for 13 episodes. I was a little surprised it was renewed and watched the first few episodes hoping it would be good.
Bottom line, its really gotten too strange and some of this is just for shock value (the pregnant women in the basement?).
I hope it stops before it can get any worse.
I enjoy watching season 2, great idea of having different time layers and the switch to a different location (preserving the ground-plot) was well done! Hoping for more viewers and a season 3 (or at least a non-cliffhanger-end of season 2)
This season is PATHETIC:
The plot meanders all over the place, some of the actors are bad and need to be killed off, but the worst offenders are the Writers. My 5th grader could do a better job at writing, than these guys. Get a whole new crop of writers, or kill the series.
I was done with this show by about ep 4 pf the first season but I watched the rest of them to give it a fair shake because I liked the concept. I started watching the new season and found it even less redeeming than the previous. This has become just another entrant into the current zombie fad – but it isn’t really surprising since the show has so little originality, why should the premise ? I don’t care about the characters (in part because the actors are just reading lines) nor their completely predictable and formulaic plight and it… Read more »
Season 2 is developmentally slow – it plods in places – and then it takes weird turns. It’s just too odd. The relationships between people are getting too weird. It’s a psychodrama-wannabe.
