Investigation Discovery Greenlights New Series ‘I Am Homicide’ Featuring Charlotte Homicide Detective Garry McFadden
(Silver Spring, MD) –Investigation Discovery, the leading destination for true-crime programming, announced today that production has begun on an all-new original series, I AM HOMICIDE, following homicide detective Garry McFadden. Detective McFadden is an officer unlike any other. Fully immersing himself in every corner of Charlotte to protect and serve the community, Detective McFadden uses his street smarts to work the neighborhoods and gather critical information for leads, no matter how dangerous. Chances are, when the call comes in, Detective McFadden knows those involved – whether it’s the victim, the family members…or even the perpetrator. Every day, he risks his life by trusting the streets he calls home. I AM HOMICIDE will make its world premiere in June of 2016 only on Investigation Discovery.
During each one-hour episode, McFadden showcases his unorthodox methods to explain how he solved the most precarious cases of his career. He’ll go anywhere, talk to anyone, backup or not. With more than a 90% success rate with the investigations he pursues; he puts it all on the line to solve the crime – and it’s worked for more than 700 cases. This unique look at justice shows McFadden’s fiery passion; all the while he’s wearing the best suits in town. And, after thirty-five years on the force, he shows no signs of slowing down.
“Garry McFadden is truly an original – with his larger-than-life personality, Garry doesn’t just solve crimes, he cares passionately about helping his community,” said Jane Latman, SVP development, ID. “This series will help viewers understand both the intricacies of detective work and the incredible legacy Garry is creating in Charlotte.”
I AM HOMICIDE is produced for Investigation Discovery by Blackfin. Executive producers on the series for Blackfin are Geno McDermott, Alexa Conway and Patrick Conway. For Investigation Discovery, Diana Sperrazza is executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Kevin Bennett is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is Group President.

What do you think? Do you like the sound of the I Am Homicide TV show? Do you plan to check it out?
Waiting for season 3. When will it air? Smart and intelligent true crime dram
I love this show and can not wait for it to return
“I Am Homicide” is one of my Top 5 favourite shows on TV period. I am glad it is coming back!
Just want to say this series of I am Homicide is GREAT and McFadden is so darn funny with his quips of diologue
This show is PATHETIC. Very few people use the word “homicide”. The word “murder” is used most often. I do NOT believe ANYBODY says, “here comes Homicide”, because they don’t know his name. I believe he is making this up in an attempt to “impress” people. Why is it necessary for him to insert that “nobody knows I’m a detective because I wear Italian made suits”? Again, another attempt to “impress” people with his claim to wear designer suits. He RAMBLES on and on and on….. What detective actually says “ring-a-ding”, when the phone rings? What detective actually says, “…and… Read more »
I love his passion for what he does, that he is confident and does not give up, I would hope to have him were anything to happen to me or someone I love, some if your not a somebody, would give up right away, anything we do in life, if we have passion, we are going to be good, such as Mr Homicide is passionate about his job, love the show and him
I love this show. Who says the Joe Kenda show is better is wrong. I hate it that there isn’t any shows playing right now. I looked forward to this show. He is a interesting to watch
The new show “I Am Homicide” is a disaster. It is a shabby copy of the Joe Kinda show & is sadly lacking in believable, content, & the principal player uses incorrect grammar; i.e., he cannot say “BATHROOM” or BIRTHDAY as so many other blacks he uses an “F”__>BAFROOM & BIRFDAY among other mistakes. Please, just give us more KINDA!
Its obvious you are very racist. Quite sad individual! And by the way, its Kenda not Kinda-Einstein. Apparently you have spelling issues. Dont throw rocks at glass houses, youre human too!!!
I agree.. the worse show ID has on air.. he’s just horrible
I happen to be black and I don’t pronounce “F” for “TH”. I enjoyed “I am Homicide” and I am sorry it was cancelled. I realize not every show is for everyone but I think we should be careful how we generalize about people. “as so many other blacks”
I agree Mary Ann, I am from boston, and people correct our grammar all the time, understand some ppl talk where they come from, and as hard as we may try to be articulate, we still slip
I have seen the promos for this program on ID. I got a poor impression of the host when he pronounced “th” as “f” as in Birfday, aflete or bof (both.)
I love this show! Adds to the ID lineup perfectly! I do not want another kinda. Though he’s good we need variety! I love this guy and the show!
Yes I love both of them also .. how said this world would be if we we’re all perfect .
Like a few of the people on here that left really disrespectful comments. This was a show from real people that lived life’s that most of us would be scared to do. And probably not smart enough to do. I’m very thankful for the men and women who wear the badge and could care less how thay talk.
Thanks for your comments, John. Of all the shows on ID, both “I AM DETECTIVE” and “Homicide Hunter” are right on top! Both seem “real”, unlike some others.
