A&E has cancelled Longmire after three seasons. The cable channel issued a statement that said, “We would like to thank the phenomenal cast, crew and producers of Longmire, along with our partners at Warner Horizon, for their tireless work on three seasons of quality dramatic storytelling.”
Word is that Warner Horizon plans to shop the series to other outlets so a fourth season may still happen.
Longmire follows the life of a Wyoming county sheriff who’s returned to work following his wife’s demise. With the support of his family and co-workers, he solves cases and works to stay in office. The cast includes Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, Bailey Chase, Adam Bartley, Cassidy Freeman, and Lou Diamond Phillips.

Oh no…loved this. Cast was great, stories great.
This is one of our favorites. Other posts claim that Netflix is picking up the series. Since we watch re-runs of Longmire, we are very happy if this is true. I have read all of the books and I have to confess the TV series is actually better than the books. The cast is amazing and the only thing better than Netflix would be the Hallmark channel which excels in great drama.
Great show it’s not fair now we have to pay more above DirecTV service to see them on Netflix.

They begin shooting in the spring and the shows will air on NETFLIX in the Summer!!
Longmire has been a terrific since its inception. I admit that it got a little weird last season but overall been well written, well acted show. Please bring it back.
TJ you can get season 4 now filming; showing this summer on Netflix. It is worth it; perhaps if enough of us follow on Netflix a Major Network will pick it up; but Netflix has some good shows as well.
A&E has cancelled so many good shows and brought in garbage reality shows. A&E should be removed from the channel lineup.
I agree that this was a great series that the whole family could watch. Did it get cancelled because it didn’t have enough sex, swearing ????? Bring it back to A&E and make a lot of people happy!
This is one of the best shows on right now. It’s lead-in show “The Glades” has suffered from a sharp decline of quality in writing and it’s cancellation was no surprise. But the quality of “Longmire” just keeps getting better and stronger, and to cancel it now would be a crime that Walt should investigate!
What a great series! We bought the seasons 1-3 dvd and were anxiously awaiting season 4 announcement. It would be nice to have a made for tv movie to finalize the series. We’ll miss it.
Netflix picked up Longmire for Season 4,, filming in Mar and running again THIS summer (2015). No need to finalize yet.
Netflix is a staple in our house as normal programming is so bad and Amazon too expensive for the good shows. If Netflix picks this show up, they will have out smarted everyone. Longmire has a serious following and will bring new subscribers to Netflix as well as hold on to their existing clients.
Longmire has found a home at Netflix.. they are producing 10 episodes this spring for summer viewing.. so GET NETFLIX -NEW EPISODES – TENN OF THEM

My wife and I love the Longmire series. Its one of the best on TV, I cant imagine what is going through the networks minds in cancelling a series that is as good as this one. Everyone we have turned on to the series is hooked. I suggest you find different sponsors and perhaps invest in a little marketing. How about producing the series for Netflix or Amazon? Trust me viewers will follow!
