Just this week, we reported CBS had cancelled Mike & Molly. Now, Deadline is reporting that there may be a very small window to save the sitcom.
The sixth season of Mike & Molly premieres on January 6th.
According to Deadline, CBS has until February 1st to renew contracts with the cast and the show’s producing studio, Warner Bros TV. After February 1st, the last day of filming for the series’ sixth season, the cast will be free to sign onto other projects.
When news of the series cancellation broke, stars Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell expressed disappointment and surprise. The sixth season was reduced from 22 episodes to 13 before the cancellation was announced. Whether or not CBS or the cast decide to renew their contracts, executive producer Chuck Lorre has promised there will be closure for the sitcom.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Mike & Molly? Would you like to see another season?
Mike and Molly should be save! It’s one of today’s BEST comedy TV show with ACTUAL talented actors! It’s high time producers stop creating mind senseless garage like reality TV. Chuck Lorre take notice!!
my god!!!!! The one liners are exceptional. All of the overeaters identify with both Mike and Molly. Please don’t cancel this show…… I will have nothing to look forward to when I come home from work,
Please save Mike and Molly!!!!!!
Drop moms life in pieces scorpion ncis new Orleans or any of the other horrible show you keep on but Save Mike and Molly
Save Mike & Molly
Save Mike & Molly it is a great show!
One of the best sitcoms on CBS or any of the networks for that matter. Save Mike & Molly!!! Let me guess, there’s not enough burnt body parts, staged reality or scientific analysis to keep it. And it makes people HAPPY!!! Surely some other network would consider picking them up! Come on Chuck Lorre give the people what they want and they will watch. Goes to show the times, they have changed. Given up on $150.00+ a month satellite, now looks like local network tv is next. Let them know what’s up Cord Cutters! ;^)
It is the best show on TV. Even watching all the reruns are better than most anything else. Absolutely LOVE the whole gang….Please keep it….
What is wrong with you this one best sitcoms and cast great due not cancel this show it’s very popular I love this show and your stupid !! Save Mike and Molly !!!!!!!
Please renew Mike and Molly We really love it pleaaasssseeee keep it!!!!!!!
My fear is that CBS didn’t ever think a show centered around fat people that are not the butt of fat jokes would ever make it. From day one detractors have panned it for what they called, “glorifying” obesity. What the show really does is help us fat folks feel good about ourselves. Why do we have to focus on skinny chicks and the constant bombardment of their sex life. This is a GREAT show that delivers laughs six years later from episode one. If you are uncomfortable watching fat people enjoy life without considering starvation dieting then focus your… Read more »
Mike and Molly is about the best CBS has to offer. If it has to go to another network, fine with me. I’ve watched from the first episode, and loved it ever since. Still watch reruns on another network in the Chicago area. The writing is great, along with the actors who deliver it. It would be a shame to cancel.
The show needs to be revamp. Do away with Mike and have Molly in a new career and the show would be around her career something funny. Never really cared for Mike. Rename the show “Just Molly”
Please STOP…..
Love this show – needs to be saved and renewed!
The deadline is 1 February 2016, and this is mid-December 2015, so CBS has a whole month (January 2016) before the cast’s contracts expire. I’m thinking CBS has not made its cancellation of “Mike & Molly” official, and likely wants to see the ratings of the first couple of episodes of its S6 before deciding to renew the cast’s contracts.
