Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

This was my favorite T.V. show. The scenery was wonderful and it was a fast paced show with all the exciting action that took place every week. I am a big fan of Ashley Judd and I am shocked that this show was cancelled. It needs to return in a different time slot. So nice to be entertained each week by something other than a reality show!!!
This is a great show. The show being shot all over Europe is a plus. I’m so sick of seeing
New York in almost every show. ABC bring it back. Maybe a cable station will pick it up.
I cannot believe that ABC would cancel this very exciting, thrilling show. The acting on Ashley Judd’s part was excellent as were most of the other characters. ABC had a great line up this season, Why ruin it. The reality shows are so lame. This one had a great plot, went all over the world, mystery, romance, what more could you ask for.
BRING IT BACK. A devoted fan.

Missing was one of the best shows I have ever seen on TV!! Please don’t cancel it!!! I think the early time was perhaps the reason it didn’t get more people watching. We would record it to see later but we always looked forward to it. The actors were all fantastic and the fast action and suspense kept us on the edge of our seat. I can’t stand the thought of not knowing what happens to Becca. That was a terrible way to end if it is truly over!!!
PLEASE RECONSIDER AND BRING IT BACK.
I am in total shock that they cancelled Missing. Aside from Revenge, Missing was the best show out there! What the heck was ABC thinking? Did they not advertise Missing? I’ve been telling all my friends to watch this show because it rocks!
Our entire family enjoyed this show very much! Yes, some of it was a bit unrealistic, but what spy-type show isn’t? For a first season show, I thought it was very good. If you look back at shows that have gone for three, four seasons and beyond, the first year is always a little rough as the characters have to be established and usually the writing and plots get better with time. Missing was one of the better shows of the season. Sometimes it just takes more than one season for a show to take off. Take Seinfeld for example. Great pity that there are more viewers in this country who watch Jersey Shore and the other reality TV shows such as the Bachelor. Very sad that the quality of the shows available are dictated by these viewers.
I looked forward every week to watch the MISSING. I set my DVR in case I was not at home. They are so many shows on TV that are not worth watching. The scenery in the MISSING was gorgeous. The story plot was exciting. I really wish ABC would consider bringing the show back on.
on the edge of my seat? no. quality acting by judd? no. which is disappointing both the other international cast was really good. plus, the storyline and the writing seemed to excel in the past few episodes. too bad…i’d like to see where they’d take becca’s disappearance.
what if someone else is subject 0? will the son blossom into a real spy? honestly, a think a recasting is due there…but i digress. i watch via hulu; no cable (just finished the finale)….so i have no idea what marketing will do. but ABC should give this one a chance.

Missing was amazing me and my dad would watch it together every Thursday and we botched loved it. So please don’t cancel it!
My husband and I have been “Missing” fans. It was exciting and filmed in marvelous parts of the world. Actors in our estimation were outstanding !! This is one of the few shows that we looked forward to viewing weekly.
The timing was not good and if it had been aired later in the evening (7 pm central too early) ratings would have gone up. I hope they reconsider bringing it back at a later date. There are many unhappy people with ABC’s decision to replace it with some trashy program. Shame on you ABC !

Missing was GREAT and action packed . The 8:00 p.m. time slot was toooooooooo early maybe that is why your rating were down. Bring it back and give it a better viewing time , would love to see how it ends. It does not always have to end with someone missing, the final should be everyone together?????? just saying
