Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

I am disappointed that this show has been cancelled. It was a great show and I was really looking forward to another season.
Sooo discouraged I looked toward to watching this show every thursday I have to say its one of the best shows I have watched it sucks that it got cancelled wish another chan would take it over… Want missing back 🙁
WHAT?! ABC IS GOING TO GO MISSING FROM MY TELEVISION!!!! THAT WAS THE BEST SHOW!!!! WHY DO THE BEST SHOWS ALWAYS GET TAKEN OFF THE AIR?! STUPIDITY!!!!!!!!!! I’VE NO IDEA WHY THE RATINGS WERE LOW! BUT, IF YOU TRY ANOTHER SHOW IN THAT TIME SLOT, I’LL BET YOU THAT THOSE RATINGS WILL BE LOW. I HURRIED EATING DINNER, SO I WOULD BE DONE TO WATCH “MISSING”! Hmm…a former CIA agent who is looking for their child in Europe? Their child was “Taken” one could say…
Try and come up with an original idea, ABC…don’t try and rehash a great action movie by having some woman taking the place of the menacing Liam Neeson, and even use many of the same plot points and have her trying to appear as threatening as Neeson when he does his telephone threat to the kidnappers.
“Missing” was “Taken Lite”…good riddance…
I’m truely disappointed that Missing got Canceled. Was really looking forward to another season of it. Really loved that show!! Always one suspense after another!!
Mom and I thought the show was Great she has been waiting to find out what time it would return. We were hoping we could still see it at 8 PM on Thursday evenings. Very disappointed to find out that the show got cancelled. 😉
“Missing” is such a great show. I’m sorry they aren’t getting a chance to build an audience. It was well written and acted, interesting and engaging. Our choices of shows to watch on ABC continues to decrease.
It started soooo late in theTV season! I loved it…..and have been waiting for the season premier. What a disappointment to have it cancelled.
I am crushed to hear that Missing will be…missing. My daughter and I have been waiting all summer for it’s return. Ashley Judd is a pleasure to watch, a phenomenal actor. The writing and acting were good and the fact that it was filmed in Europe was adventurous.

ABC really pissed me off by canceling this show. It was awesome and I loved every second of it. They should have given it at least one not season! I am boycotting ABC because they are ridiculous. That was my favorite show :/
The time slot was way off. ten p.m. would have been better. The show had everything–great cast, marvelous acting., plenty of suspense. It is a show that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Younger kids won’t identify with an older heroine. Show should have aired later. Hope someone else picks it up–HBO!!!
Me and the wife have been waiting all summer for this show to start ABC has to give this awesome show a Fair chance ..the sitcoms and the reality shows are ridiculous and they go and cancel the good shows give me a break I’m tired of this!! ABC you’re going to lose another viewer!!! KEEP MISSING GOING !!!!
I loved the show missing and I am disappointed to hear that it is not going to be on. I was hoping to be able to watch it again this year. I think they should put it back on the air. It was suspensful and had plenty of action even my husband enjoyed watching it.
I’ve been waiting all summer for the new season to start and Missing was on the top of my list of shows. Instead we get more stupid reality or sit coms.. give me a break!
BIG MISTAKE!!! PLEASE bring Missing back! it was one of only 2 shows we watched on a weekly basis.
