Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

This show was awesome! It was like watching a movie on TV! What was ABC thinking? Some other network should pick it up if they were smart, Ashley you did an outstanding job!

I loved that show, it was one of the best shows on TV last year! They should have just moved it to a new time slot. I’m sure whatever replaces it won’t be as good . ABC you continue to disappoint!

I am very shocked and disappointed that this show has been cancelled. It was such an action packed thriller. I haven’t seen another show like this ever!! ABC made a huge mistake.
I am extremly disappointed there will not be a second seasson. It was the best action packed drama casting a great actress. Give it a second chance, especial with so many of the silly sitcoms on that I never tune into.
I am very disappointed that this series was cancelled it is one of our favorite shows how do they know how many people like this or not no one asked us I think they should not cancel any series until it airs at least 2 seasons. I am sorry Ashley I think you were great in this show. and how do we know what happened can’t they at least give us a final episode where you get your son and life back together leaving people hanging is no way to end a series!!
My family and I are so upset that the show was cancelled. We thought for sure that this show was a number one hit. It keeps you hanging on the edge of your seat the whole time with each new episode! It was great and the network needs to change the cancellation somwhow someway! Please…..
What a disappointment! Missing is the best action packed and intriguing show on TV in years. We were glued to the TV during each episode, taped it, watched it again, and then took it to our daughter’s house so she could see it. She ALSO loved it. We can’t imagine why the ratings were low. Maybe it didn’t get sufficient promotion. Our #2 favorite show is “Body of Proof”. Hope that one stays on.
Too bad, I’m a fan of Ashley Judd she was awesome. Good actors, interesting series. I try to view it online and was surprise of the cancellation. I do not watch much of TV, not a big fan of comedy sitcoms but Missing was one of the 3 shows I view on a regular basis. Tired of reality garbage and singing contest shows, I guess numbers, the quantity is more important than the quality of shows. I hope abc reconsiders.
I’m so disappointed I thought it was weird it didn’t start yet I really wish they had another episode it’s my favorite show series!!!! Now I have to find something new to watch 🙁

I got into this show and loved it. But like always they cut a show rather than give at least another chance. There were tv shows in the past that got more chances than Missing did and they ended up doing great. That is why I don’t watch anything on ABC now that Missing is cancelled.
