Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

I am so disappointed. One of the only shows my family watched together. I was really looking forward to season 2. I think this would of been a hit. I think ABC made a mistake on this one.
REALLY! What a Great show! How disappointing that it is cancelled!! I could not wait for season 2 to start!
Everyone talks abouth these ratings but don’t consider VOD. I think the rating system doesn’t work. This was the best action show of the year and I can’t think of any other show I watch on ABC.
sorry about this show….have been looking forward to this one and now i find out it is not going to come back…i have written next thurs on my calendar…..no wonder i watch the same shows and do not look at new ones…the ones i have watched so far are awful….next thing they will probably take “castle” off and i will really be upset….
Bummer! This was an excellent show and the scenery of Croatia and other European countries was extraordinary. It is the only show I watch on ABC…no real reason to turn to ABC now.
I usually watch CBS but Missing was one of the first shows i liked in a long time. Seeing how ABC let this show go off the air kind of answers the question why i dont watch this channel.
So sad!! I loved this show! So suspensefull! I always couldn’t wait for the next weeks episode!! So dissappointed!! Why dont’t you replace it with a couple new sitcoms that I won’t watch!!! EEEEERRRRRRRRRRRR ABC why don’t you ask us what we want!!
Are you kidding me??? With sooooo much garbage on TV these days.!!!!!…..this show was a “class act”…so well written/produced. I agree with previous comment…was like watching a 5* movie EVERY week!!!!My husband and I lived in fear of forgetting to set up the PVR to tape the show every week …..we were so looking forward to season 2…what a horrible disappointment! This was a program the whole family could watch….rare!!!Somebody really dropped the ball on this one…..hope another network will pick it up???
OMG I am so so so so upset- ashley judd was a BEAST in this show- i watched every episode and i was on the edge of my seat the whole time!!!! this news breaks my heart- leave it to ABC to cancel another good show! im still bitter about the sudden end to Brothers & Sisters. Boo Abc, u suck.
I can’t believe Missing has been cancelled! My husband and I watched every single episode. We were totally hooked on this program. It was action packed and Ashley Judd did a fantastic job as did all the actors. We were so hoping it would continue. We are very disappointed.
This really sucks!! The last two years I got hook about 6 shows. After the first season they all got cancel. These days I could care less about a new show because once you start liking it then it gets the canceled.
SO MAD!! I was looking forward to season 2 all summer long. WOW! can’t believe it got cancelled. My whole family watched it together every single week… =(

What a disapointment! One of the better shows on what has become a wasteland. Oh well, one more reason to watch anything other than ABC.
I find it very surprising this show was cancelled. I am disappointed. I have been looking forward to the season premiere. This show was like an action packed movie EVERY single week! You better not look away or you would miss something. You would have to rewind and rewatch. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had it figured out-I would realize I was WRONG! The writing was/is SUPURB! The cancellation, I believe is bogus…..the show was clean…..maybe that was the problem. WOW!
Too bad that Missing was cancelled. I’ve been looking forward to see the second season. Missing was not like most series on television. I thought that was one of the best mini series. Entertaining, full of mistery and action and not to mention very classy. ABC should have advertize the show more frequently just like the other network. And lastly ABC should have ask the public opinion regarding the show before making a decision of cancelling it.
