How do you say goodbye to a show you’ve been on for 14 years? Recently, Adam Savage spoke with Variety about the end of Mythbusters.
The Discovery Channel series, which featured Savage and co-host Jamie Hyneman, ended this year after a run of nearly 250 episodes.
When asked about the series’ ending, Savage said he was told he would lose his mind a bit by Criminal Minds star Paget Brewster:
She was like, ‘You’ve been on your show 14 years. You’re going to lose your mind a little bit,’ and I will be forever grateful for her warning me,” Savage recalls. “It’s easy to get intoxicated by the ability to say yes. In a way, a full-time TV show is a great filter for things you might not have time to do. Without that, I have to be my own filter. And I can overcommit — it’s certainly a thing I have a proclivity for.”
Savage says he’s currently working on a stage show for 2017.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Mythbusters? Are you still sad the show is over?
