It looks like things are stabilizing. Week three garnered a 0.9 demo rating once again with 1.98 million viewers. It’s still one of the higher averaging shows on the network but that’s not saying much.

The second episode attracted a 0.9 in the 18-49 demo with 1.94 million viewers. That’s a loss of 25% in the demo and 31% in total viewership. This is not a good sign for the show’s future at all.

Episode 01-01: Tuesday, 9/13/11
The TV series debuted to a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.84 million viewers. While Ringer showed significant growth out of its 90210 lead-in, it didn’t do much better than Hellcats did a year earlier. The quarter hour breakdown of the numbers show little erosion, meaning that most people kept watching Ringer until the episode was over.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Ringer TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

I really do believe that the show will get better and I really want them return for season 2!!!
Kat I think that they are #3 in the demo for the season (as of that episode). Nothing besides H8r (a reality show already canceled) and Nikita’s episode Friday (if it doesn’t adjust up in finals, was a preliminary/fast national) has scored below a 0.6 in the demo this year. Vampire Diaries followed by its successor Secret Circle are the only shows that would be ahead of Ringer right now if we average in its earlier successes, although that week Hart of Dixie, ANTM, GG, 90210, and Supernatural (in its preliminary at least so far) also beat Ringer making it… Read more »
Seamus Harper » Perhaps but there wasn’t a lot of viewer interest in them. They’re a little time intensive so we’ll see. Thanks for the feedback.
admin >> I liked those posts, too. I watch a lot of shows on the CW and I like to know the ratings and such for them. But as long as you continue to post the stats on every show’s page (like above), we can still get a pretty good picture of what’s what.
Seamus Harper >> Yeah, you’re right, it’s just for the season, but still… O.o I had a friend on eRepublik with your name, he was cool. Just a random thought.
Holy heck, Episode 4’s demo rank. Ringer is #3 in the demo with just a 0.6? I think people need to realize that young people today, in particular, are turning to alternative means to watch their favorite TV shows and that Nielson ratings are useless for them. Bad news for The CW, whose whole gist is “young people” (particularly young women). It’d be really terrible if a lot of great shows got cancelled — nay, if the CW had to shut down — due to some outdated means of measuring viewership.
I love the show!!! Its great to see sarah michelle again…do not cancel! !” It’s great to watch something besides reality tv. Looking forward to it being picked up. I will be very disappointed it they cancel this…
I liked the cliffhanger in the last episode, can’t wait till next week. Looks like Andrew is going to find out about the affair though, which is sad, ‘cos it seemed like they were finally getting along and I do so want them to be happy together! There’s a chance that Andrew will instead find out that Siobhan is Bridget, but I doubt it; they’re going to keep that mystery going all season, I would think. But hopefully Andrew will find out eventually, that Bridget isn’t the one who cheated on him.
Love this show! Definitely a patient watch… this last episode left me super excited for next week… I will absolutely tune in! Its nice to see a how that takes the time to build tension… am really looking forward to episode 108!
I love, love, love this show!! I can barely wait for the next tuesday to come to see what happens. This show really keeps you guessing and provides plently of stimulating mental activity, wondering what will happen next, if someone will find out who she really is and if so, who?? Will they keep her secret?? How will she explain the lack of pregnancy?? etc… I def think it’s worth keeping on the air!!
I think Ringer is a great drama. I’m really looking forward to the next episodes!
I wonder how many people, like me, can only see the show on the CW website. The network is not available in the Western Massachusetts market. I would watch it on TV (even over The New Girl).
Ringer is a great drama and really keeps a viewer guessing. I wonder if the people trashing this show are watching the same show I’m wathcing. It isn’t fair that the network powers that be don’t give this show a chance.
i dont know about other states but due to the yankees game being on instead of the ringer i coulodnt watch again so that could count for a million viewers or more. the shows gettin screwed over by sports.
I love this show! I really hope it stays on… and is given the chance to develop the fan-following that it surely will! This is a great outlet for Sarah Michelle Gellar – it’s so different from “Buffy” that it shows she is a multi-dimensional actress! I still love her as Buffy, but this is a great new show!
Watched the premeire and then half of the second episode when I had to change the channel. It’s like a late 1980’s prime time soap to me and is just too poorly done. Very poor and disconnected plot continuity, like the writers are just throwing out mini-plot ideas to see which ones to go with…if they don’t know neither do I. The so-called ‘twists and turns’ are just boring and incomplete; they don’t hold my interest or go anywhere. The character is unbelievable. SMG’s acting is good; but the story line and what I’m being asked to believe about her… Read more »
Ringer is not the fast paced, action packed show that Buffy was. It is very subtle and certainly can’t be judged in a 15 minute viewing. I think the storyline is interesting and will provide multiple possibilities and twists to keep viewers watching. Sarah Michelle brings her remarkable talent back to TV in dual force. It is obvious ,from the comments, that the show has generated questions and interest from viewers. My advice would be to keep watching and your questions will be answered. I am in for the long haul.
Keep the show coming, it’s really amazing seeing Sarah back into tv series. I really hope the show doesn’t get cancelled. I hope it gets renewed instead.
